FPA UFI delivery air filter

The FPA UFI delivery air filter is a compact in-line solution designed for medium-pressure filtration in hydraulic circuits. Built with an anodized aluminum alloy housing and a brass bypass valve, it supports a maximum operating pressure of 11 MPa (110 bar). It ensures flow rates up to 60 l/min and is compatible with standard hydraulic fluids. Thanks to FormulaUFI filter elements, it provides effective protection of sensitive components over a temperature range from -25°C to +110°C.

Description

Medium-Pressure In-Line Filters FPA UFI Series: Compactness and Performance

The FPA series by UFI Filters offers an efficient solution for delivery filtration (“Medium pressure inline filter”) in systems operating at medium pressures. These filters are designed to be installed directly in the line, protecting valves and sensitive components from solid contamination and ensuring long service life of the hydraulic system.

Construction Features and Materials

The structure of the FPA filter is engineered to combine light weight and mechanical strength:

  • Housing: Made of anodized aluminum alloy, offering corrosion resistance and durability.
  • Bypass Valve: Made of brass, integrated into the system with a setting of 600 kPa (6 bar) ±10% to ensure flow continuity under critical conditions.
  • Indicator Port: Made of brass, for secure installation of monitoring devices.
  • Seals: Standard NBR Nitrile, with optional FKM Fluoroelastomer on request.

FormulaUFI Filter Elements

The series uses filter elements from the EPA family, characterized by a high differential collapse resistance of 8 MPa (80 bar). Different filter media technologies are available to meet specific application requirements:

  • FormulaUFI.MICRON (FA, FB, FC, FS, FD, FE): Inorganic glass microfiber with filtration ratings from 5 to 30 µm and a ß ratio > 1,000.
  • FormulaUFI.CELL (CC): Impregnated cellulose rated at 10 µm.
  • FormulaUFI.WEB (ME): 60 µm metal mesh.

Connections and Accessories

The filters are available with 1/2″ threaded connections in BSP, NPT, and SAE versions. Maintenance is facilitated by the possibility of installing differential clogging indicators (visual, electrical, or electronic) to monitor the condition of the filter element.
