The construction is entirely made of aluminum, a material that ensures lightness and strength. The design includes versatile connections, available in NPT, SAE flange, and SAE O-ring thread versions, allowing flexible integration into different hydraulic circuits. These heads are engineered to operate over a wide temperature range, from -30°C to +100°C (-22°F … +212°F), making them suitable for variable environmental conditions.

Hydraulic Performance: Flow Rate and Pressure

The system is optimized to handle significant flows depending on the specific application. For return lines, the heads support a maximum flow rate of 454 l/min (120 US GPM), while for in-line suction applications the flow rate is 132 l/min (35 US GPM). The maximum allowable operating pressure is 12 bar (174 PSI). In addition, the component is designed to withstand a maximum differential pressure of 5 bar (72.5 PSI) for applications that do not use a bypass valve. Media compatibility is ensured for mineral oils, with the possibility of using other fluids upon request.

Filter Element Compatibility and Configurations

The SSF-24N/24S heads are developed for use with filter elements of the SF-67 and SFC-57/58 series, specifically for element types with A- and B-type sealing contours. It is important to note that the filter element is not included in the standard supply. To facilitate maintenance, a free space of 40 mm (1.58 in) is required for element removal. Element dimensions vary depending on the selected model (L1 or L2) for the SFC-57/58 and SF-67 series, with specific lengths detailed in the technical documentation.

Bypass Options and Indicators

To maximize system protection, the heads offer the option to integrate a bypass valve directly into the head. Multiple bypass setting options are available to suit specific operating requirements: 0.2 bar (3 PSI), 0.35 bar (5 PSI), 1.0 bar (15 PSI), and 1.7 bar (25 PSI). A configuration without a bypass valve is also available. For monitoring filter condition, ports for clogging indicators with 1/8 NPT threads are provided, positionable according to the application (Pos. 1 for return line, Pos. 2 for suction line).
