The Stauff SRFL-D Series Inline Duplex Filters represent an advanced engineering solution for hydraulic and lubrication systems where system shutdown for maintenance is not a viable option. The “Duplex” (double) configuration ensures that fluid flow is never interrupted, maintaining constant operational efficiency.

Operating Principle and Construction

The core of the SRFL-D system consists of two filter housings connected to each other. Flow management is handled by a special gate valve, operated by a lever or handwheel, which allows the flow to be diverted from one filter housing to the other. This mechanism enables operators to isolate one of the two housings to replace the filter elements while the other continues to operate at full capacity, avoiding costly system downtime.

The filter elements are designed as basket strainers, a construction feature that retains contaminants inside the element during replacement operations, preventing fluid recontamination.

The SRFL-D series covers a wide range of sizes, from model 160 up to model 3600, to accommodate different flow rate requirements.

To ensure robustness and industrial adaptability, the filter housings are manufactured in carbon steel, with stainless steel available as an option upon request. The available connections comply with the most widely used international standards:

  • ANSI or DIN flanges for all sizes.
  • SAE flanges (ISO 6162-1/2) available for designated configurations.

Standard sealing materials include NBR (Buna®) or FKM (Viton®), ensuring optimal sealing performance based on the process fluid and operating temperature.

Filter Element Options

The SRFL-D series supports various types of filter media to match the required filtration grade and fluid characteristics:

  • Inorganic glass fiber (3, 5, 10, 20 micron).
  • Filter paper (10, 20 micron).
