MP Return Filter Series MPT

Description

Overview and Operating Principle

The range includes the MP Return Filter Series MPT, specifically developed to protect the tank from contamination in hydraulic systems. These return filters are mounted directly on the tank and operate in submerged or semi-submerged configuration. To prevent foam formation and fluid aeration, the filter outlet must remain constantly immersed in the liquid. Fluid flow through the filter element always occurs from the outside toward the inside, following the OUT to IN direction. MPT filters support vertical mounting only.

Construction Features and Materials

The reliability of the component is ensured by the high quality of its construction materials: the head is made of aluminum, while the cover and bowl are entirely molded in nylon. The standard seals supplied are Series A in NBR, with the option to use Series V seals in FPM.

The hydraulic design features female threaded connections up to 1 1/4″ to easily manage the maximum flow rate of 300 l/min. Multiple connection configurations are also available, ideal for connecting several return or drain lines simultaneously. Installation is simplified by the availability of interfaces with 2, 3 or 6 mounting holes and the use of O-ring or flat seals designed to adapt to various tank configurations and surfaces. A particularly important design feature is the screw-on cover with a special shape, developed to allow rapid replacement of the filter element without the need for specific tools.

Variants and Integrated Valves

The range includes the models MPT 025, MPT 027, MPT 110, MPT 114, MPT 116 and MPT 120. All models integrate a bypass valve located directly within the filter element, designed to relieve excessive pressure drop across the filter media. The bypass valve can be selected with two precise opening pressure settings: 1.75 bar (175 kPa) or 3 bar (300 kPa), both guaranteed within a tolerance of 10%.

Technical Specifications and Accessories

The operational specifications allow maximum working pressures up to 8 bar (800 kPa). The supported operating temperature range extends from -25 °C to +110 °C.

To optimize system control, the filters can be equipped with an integrated breather filter designed to clean incoming air entering the tank due to oil level fluctuations. This breather filter is also available with an additional pressurization valve to maintain ideal internal tank conditions. Optional accessories include an oil dipstick, extension tubes required for deep tanks, and diffusers capable of significantly reducing foam formation and overall noise.

Applications and Sectors

The fine filtration provided ensures optimal cleanliness levels within the tank. For this reason, filters of the MPT series are widely used in light industrial equipment. At the same time, thanks to strong structural resistance and hydraulic versatility, they represent an ideal standard for protecting circuits in mobile applications.
