MP Filter FHB Series

Description

The high-pressure filters of the FHB series, developed by MP Filtri, are designed to ensure rigorous protection of sensitive components in high-pressure hydraulic systems. Their main application is found in delivery lines of mobile machinery and various types of industrial equipment. These filters are connected directly to the manifold block side through a dedicated flanged interface, supporting connections up to 30 mm in diameter. The design provides exclusively for vertical mounting.

Operating Specifications and Structural Strength

The entire range is capable of operating with a maximum working pressure of up to 32 MPa (320 bar) and handling maximum flow rates up to 485 l/min. The materials used in construction reflect the need to operate in critical environments: the head is made of phosphated cast iron, while the housing is made of phosphated steel.

The level of safety and reliability is certified by rigorous tests:

  • Test pressure: 48 MPa (480 bar).
  • Minimum burst pressure: 96 MPa (960 bar).
  • Pulsating pressure fatigue test: 1,000,000 cycles with pressure variations from 0 to 32 MPa (320 bar).
  • Wide tolerated operating temperature range: from -25 °C to +110 °C.

Valve Configuration and Filter Elements

The system offers maximum versatility thanks to several internal valve configuration options. The bypass and check valves are made of steel. The bypass valve has a standard opening pressure of 0.6 MPa (6 bar) with a tolerance of ±10%. The check valve is intended to protect the system from possible reverse flows.

The filter elements are designed to adapt to the presence or absence of the valves, with flow direction from outside to inside (From OUT to IN):

  • Low collapse element (Series N – 20 bar): Suitable for use with filters equipped with a bypass valve.
  • High collapse element (Series H – 210 bar): Intended for filters without a bypass valve.
  • High collapse element with external support (Series S – 210 bar): Ideal for protecting the filter media from back pressure generated by the check valve in filters without bypass.

Available filter media include inorganic microfiberglass (filtration grades 3 µm, 6 µm, 10 µm, 16 µm, 25 µm) and wire mesh (25 µm).

Model Variants and Clogging Indicators

The family is available in four main sizes: FHB 050, FHB 065, FHB 135, and FHB 320, each available in different lengths (from 1 to 5, depending on the model). The sealing system provides for the use of standard NBR seals (series A) or, on request, FPM seals (series V). To monitor operating efficiency, visual (e.g. DVA, DVM), electrical (e.g. DEA, DEM, DEU), or electronic (DTA) differential clogging indicators can be installed.
