The FOX H Series Diaphragm Accumulator – Non-Repairable is a hydropneumatic component designed for the optimization and safety of circuits in the hydraulic sector. The device architecture is based on a robust body made of painted carbon steel, capable of offering high mechanical resistance. The most relevant technical aspect is its construction method: the structure is made by crimping, completely excluding the use of welds. This engineering choice eliminates potential weak points, giving the accumulator superior reliability within the system in which it is integrated.

Technical Specifications and Performance

The accumulator is designed to support a maximum working pressure (PS) ranging from 210 bar to 250 bar depending on the model, and is subjected to test pressures (PT) equal to PS multiplied by factors of 1.43, 1.3 or 1.5. The standard operating temperature range (TS) is from -20°C to +80°C, making the component versatile for multiple operating scenarios. The recommended compression ratio, essential for preserving performance over time, is P2/P0=2.5, with a maximum technical limit of P2/P0=4. It should be remembered that the mechanical life of the accumulator decreases as this compression ratio increases. If the device is used as a pulsation damper, the nitrogen precharge pressure must be calculated between 60% and 80% of the working pressure, carefully analyzing both pump characteristics and operating temperatures.

Internal Diaphragm and Compatible Fluids

In its standard configuration, the accumulator is equipped with a diaphragm compatible with mineral oils and non-aggressive fluids. Since this is a non-repairable version, no spare parts are available for replacing the diaphragm itself. If the technical application requires it, the H Series offers alternative solutions with diaphragms made of specific materials such as HNBR, EPDM, FPM and HYTREL.

Installation and Range Variants

Accumulator positioning is highly flexible: it can be installed either horizontally or vertically, with the only requirement being to orient the nitrogen valve upwards in vertical installation. The base model is equipped with a standard 5/8″ UNF nitrogen valve. To meet more complex system requirements, the H Series offers several additional configurations:

  • H…/LT Series: variant with diaphragm optimized for temperatures down to -40°C.
  • H…R Series: rechargeable version with 5/8″ UNF nitrogen valve.
  • H…M Series: rechargeable version equipped with M28x1.5 nitrogen valve.
  • H…V Series: non-rechargeable model with permanently set nitrogen precharge.

In terms of connections, SAE 3000, ANSI B16.5 and UNI/DIN flanges can be requested, as well as specially designed custom connections. The outer body can also be treated with standard FOX painting or according to specific project requirements.
