The repairable FOX HP Series Piston Accumulator is specifically developed to withstand intensive work cycles in hydraulic applications. The main body is made of carbon steel and features a mechanical architecture with removable plugs, designed to facilitate periodic inspection and repair operations. The internal piston is made of aluminum to optimize sliding dynamics. To ensure maximum sealing efficiency in the standard configuration, the component is supplied with NBR seals, perfectly suitable for operation within a temperature range from -20°C to +80°C. The standard equipment is completed by a 5/8″ UNF nitrogen valve.

Technical Specifications and Performance

All models in the series are sized to operate with a constant maximum working pressure (PS) of 250 bar. The test pressure (PT) is mathematically defined by applying multiplication coefficients of 1.43, 1.3 or 1.5 to the working pressure (PS x 1.43/1.3/1.5). In application terms, this accumulator offers a significant technical advantage: its intrinsic design means that the compression ratio does not need to comply with defined parameters, simplifying its sizing within the circuit. From an installation standpoint, the device provides extreme flexibility as it can be installed in any position. Dynamic performance shows a maximum piston operating speed of 0.6 m/s across the entire range, supported by a maximum nitrogen precharge pressure set at 175 bar.

Options and Customizations Upon Request

The accumulator can be configured according to project specifications through a wide selection of variants. The external finish includes a painted body according to the standard FOX procedure or customized in line with the client’s requirements. To maximize chemical and mechanical compatibility with the fluids used, the unit can be equipped with polyurethane, FPM or PTFE seals, in addition to the possibility of requesting a version with a dedicated scraper for abrasive fluids.

The hydraulic interfaces can vary by integrating connections with SAE 3000, SAE 6000, ANSI B16.5 or UNI/DIN flanges, and special connections can be developed upon explicit request. The range includes the availability of high-pressure versions and configurations with special volumes. For critical environments, the X Series in SS316L stainless steel or exotic materials is available. Finally, a version with an external level indicator can be selected for continuous monitoring of the piston position.

International Compliance and Certifications

The product is suitable for meeting the most stringent global standards, ensuring safe use in multiple jurisdictions. Upon request, the accumulator can be certified CE (2014/68/EU-PED) and ATEX (2014/34/EU), as well as complying with EN 14359 and EN 13445 standards. International approvals extend compliance to standards such as ASME VIII Div.1 or Div.2 (Latest Edition) with U-Stamp and NB, PD5500 for the United Kingdom, KOSHA for Korea, SELO for China, CU-TR 032/2013 for Russia and DOSH for Malaysia. NR-13 certifications for Brazil, CRN for Canada, AS1210/4343 for Australia and approvals issued by BV, DNV/RINA, ARH and Lloyd’s/ABS are also available.
