STAUFF Stacking Bolt / Stacking Stud (Type AF – Heavy Series)
The STAUFF Stacking Bolt / Stacking Stud (Type AF – Heavy Series) is used in combination with Type SIP safety locking plates in accordance with DIN 3015, Part 2. It ensures stable connections through ISO metric or UNC threads. Manufactured from carbon steel or stainless steel, it provides maximum reliability for stacking pipework in hydraulic systems.
The available product code families are: AF-3S, AF-4S, AF-5S, AF-6S, AF-7S, AF-8S, AF-9S, AF-10S.
STAUFF Stacking Bolt / Stacking Stud (Type AF – Heavy Series)
The STAUFF Stacking Bolt / Stacking Stud (Type AF – Heavy Series) is a critical connecting component developed for the construction of stacked pipework systems. The component is engineered exclusively for use in combination with the Type SIP Safety Locking Plate. Its design fully complies with the strict tolerances specified by DIN 3015, Part 2 (Heavy Series), ensuring a secure, vibration-resistant mechanical connection that is ideal for high-pressure hydraulic systems.
The system provides extensive installation scalability thanks to its availability in multiple variants. Specifically, it covers STAUFF Groups 3S to 10S, corresponding to DIN Groups 1 to 8.
Compatibility with international standards is ensured by two thread options. The component features threaded sections compliant with either the ISO Metric system (M) or, alternatively, the Unified Coarse (UNC) system. The exact thread sizes increase proportionally according to the selected group: metric configurations range from M10 for Groups 3S, 4S and 5S up to M30 for the largest size, Group 10S. Similarly, the UNC options range from 3/8-16 UNC to 1-1/8-7 UNC. The total lengths (L1) range from 49 mm for Group 3S to 331 mm for Group 10S.
To withstand the most demanding environmental and chemical conditions, the STAUFF stacking stud is available in five different material and finish classes, identified by codes W1 to W5. Carbon steel versions include uncoated (W1), phosphated (W2) and zinc/nickel-plated (W3) variants. For example, in the North American market, W3 is the standard finish for Groups 3S to 7S, while W1 is the standard finish for the larger Groups 8S to 10S.
For applications in highly corrosive environments, the product is available in stainless steel. The options include V2A grade (W4), corresponding to 1.4301/1.4305 (AISI 304/303), and the higher-grade V4A version (W5), corresponding to 1.4401/1.4571 (AISI 316/316 Ti).
