The STAUFF Cushioned Clamp Assembly STC / SPC is specifically designed to optimise pipe fastening in hydraulic and industrial systems. The primary function of the assembly is to effectively absorb mechanical shocks and reduce vibrations transmitted through pressurised circuits. The design ensures complete isolation between the pipe and metal structures, thereby preventing galvanic corrosion. The system is engineered for direct mounting on 41.3 mm (1-5/8 in) channel rails, such as the STAUFF SCS Channel Rail. This design significantly reduces horizontal installation space, facilitating both initial installation and retrofit procedures on existing machinery.
The clamp assembly is based on modular assembly kits (identified by the suffix “K”). Each assembly consists of two steel clamp halves, one of which features an integrated threaded stud, one cushioning insert and one locking nut with a Nylon anti-loosening insert. The cushioning element is moulded from thermoplastic elastomer with a hardness of 80 Shore-A and is supplied in black. All mechanical connections exclusively use Unified Coarse Threads (UNC). The system is divided into two main families: the STC Series, sized for rigid tube outside diameters (Tube O.D.), and the SPC Series, designed for standardised pipe sizes (Pipe). The metal components are available in three material variants to suit different levels of environmental exposure: zinc-plated and blue-chromated carbon steel (W32), V2A stainless steel 1.4301 / AISI 304 (W4) and V4A stainless steel 1.4401 / AISI 316 (W5).
The high damping capacity of these clamps makes them suitable for most Fluid Power applications. The thermoplastic elastomer used for the retaining insert offers excellent chemical stability. The material is fully compatible with most hydraulic oils, industrial chemical compounds and solvents used for cleaning operations. From a thermal perspective, the clamp maintains its flexibility and retention properties over an extremely demanding temperature range, ensuring full operation from -50 °C up to a maximum of +125 °C (from -58 °F to +257 °F).
