The STAUFF Flat U-Bolt Clamp FB/RUK (with Short Plastic Saddle) is a mechanical fastening component specifically designed for exclusive use as a Fixed Point Clamp. Its geometry makes it the ideal solution for the supported or suspended installation of rigid and flexible pipework on beams, standard profiles and structural brackets within complex hydraulic systems. The engineered design features two threaded ends, allowing precise adjustment to the exact outside diameter of the installed pipe, ensuring stable retention and preventing unwanted vibrations or axial movement during system pressure cycles.

Construction Features and Components

The complete fastening assembly consists of separate and complementary elements designed to maximise structural strength. The core component is the flat steel U-bolt (Type FB), which encloses the pipe from above. A short plastic saddle (Type RUK) is used to protect the pipe, acting as a cushioning and insulating interface. The base of the system consists of a U-profile compliant with DIN 1026. Final fastening is ensured by two hexagon nuts compliant with DIN EN ISO 4032 and two hexagon head bolts compliant with DIN EN ISO 4014/4017. The entire assembly is supplied pre-assembled, reducing machine downtime and installation time on site.

For highly aggressive environments, the W5 option is available in V4A stainless steel (1.4401/1.4571 – equivalent to AISI 316/316 Ti). The base U-profile is consistently manufactured from uncoated carbon steel. For the protective saddles, standard materials include Polypropylene (code PP, green) and Polyamide (code PA, black), ensuring operational flexibility under different thermal and mechanical conditions.

Dimensional Specifications

The dimensional range of this series is extremely broad, covering nominal diameters (DN) from 40 to 500. This corresponds to pipe outside diameters (D1) ranging from 48.3 mm (1-1/2 inches) up to 521 mm (20.84 inches). The hexagon head bolt sizes also increase according to the clamp diameter, starting from M10 x 40 for smaller sizes (up to DN 65), followed by M12 x 55, M16 x 75 and M20 x 80, up to robust M24 x 100 bolts for diameters of 355.6 mm and above. This proportional sizing ensures that the clamping load and shear resistance are always appropriate for the mass and inertia of the supported pipework.
