Operating Principle and Applications

The STAUFF Metal Clamps DIN 1596 – Light-Duty 1-Bolt Saddle provide a specific technical solution for the rigid fastening of pipes and cylindrical components. The anchoring system features a light-duty saddle design with a single bolt, a configuration that optimises installation space while maintaining high standards of mechanical retention. The tension clearance ensures correct distribution of the radial load on the clamped component, helping to prevent structural deformation of the pipe.

This series (STAUFF Group 001) is designed for the direct installation of pipes, poles and other circular components. Fastening takes place directly on the supporting substrate, allowing mounting on floors, walls or ceilings.

Materials and Surface Treatments

The versatility of the STAUFF Metal Clamps DIN 1596 – Light-Duty 1-Bolt Saddle is ensured by the availability of three different material options, coded to meet specific environmental requirements. Versions with alternative materials or finishes are available upon request. Standard options include:

• Code W1: Carbon steel, supplied uncoated. Suitable for standard applications in controlled environments or where subsequent painting of the system is planned.
• Code W66: Carbon steel, zinc-plated and thick-film passivated. This surface treatment increases corrosion resistance, making the component suitable for demanding industrial environments.
• Code W5: V4A stainless steel, grades 1.4401 and 1.4571 (corresponding to AISI 316 and AISI 316 Ti). This specification ensures maximum corrosion resistance, essential for applications in chemically aggressive or marine environments.

Dimensional Specifications

The dimensional range covers outside diameters (D1) from 5.5 mm (0.22 inches) up to 61 mm (2.40 inches). To ensure clamping proportional to the pipe diameter, the clamp thickness (parameter S) increases progressively: 2 mm for smaller diameters, 3 mm for intermediate diameters, and 4 mm for sections above 46 mm.

At the same time, the saddle width (parameter B) increases according to the supported outside diameter, with values of 16 mm, 20 mm, 25 mm, 30 mm, 40 mm and 55 mm. This variation ensures a sufficient contact area to stabilise the pipe without concentrating mechanical stress. The fastening holes (parameter D2) have diameters ranging from 6.6 mm to 14 mm. Specific models within the range feature dimensions similar to DIN 1596.
