Description
Oleo Tecnica BSP Threaded Flanges with 60° Conical Seal represent an advanced engineering solution for secure and reliable connections in hydraulic circuits operating under high pressure. Thanks to the 60-degree conical profile and standard GAS (BSP) threading, these components ensure a precise fit, minimising the risk of hydraulic fluid leakage even under intensive operating conditions and continuous pressure peaks.
Construction Features and Materials
From a materials standpoint, the flanges are manufactured using high-quality alloys designed to withstand continuous mechanical stress. Ordering options allow selection between S355 carbon steel (identified by the AFS root code in the designation) and AISI316L stainless steel (identified by the AFX root code). Supply configurations include the flange only (“Flange only”, suffix B), or the flange complete with fastening set (“Complete flange”, suffixes BM for metric threading or BU for UNC threading). The complete set includes fastening screws, spring washers and an O-ring seal to optimise hydraulic sealing. According to the technical specifications, it is important to note that sets with UNC screws are available exclusively in carbon steel.
Working Pressures and Dimensions: Series 3000 and Series 6000
The range is divided into two pressure-resistance classes, offering high flexibility for different system configurations.
Series 3000 covers nominal sizes from 1/2″ to 1″1/2. The maximum recommended working pressure for this series decreases as dimensions increase: for 1/2″, 3/4″ and 1″ sizes, the maximum operating limit is 345 Kg/cm². For the 1″1/4 size, the maximum pressure is 276 Kg/cm², while for the 1″1/2 version it decreases to 207 Kg/cm².
Series 6000 is specifically designed for the most demanding hydraulic applications. Also available in sizes from 1/2″ to 1″1/2, this series maintains a constant maximum recommended working pressure of exactly 414 Kg/cm² across the entire size range considered.
Fastener Specifications and O-Ring Seals
Each model and size uses specific O-ring seals (types 4075, 4100, 4131, 4150, 4187), calibrated to maximise coupling with the 60-degree conical sealing surface. Metric screws vary according to flange size, starting from M8x30 for 1/2″ fittings and reaching M16x55 for the 1″1/2 Series 6000 size. Alternatively, UNC fastening uses screws ranging from 5/16″x1″1/4 up to 5/8″x2″1/4, ensuring excellent structural anchoring of the component within the system and resistance to vibration and hydraulic shocks.
