Description
Oleo Tecnica JIC Threaded Flanges represent an important engineering solution for hydraulic systems, ensuring leak-tight sealing and complete structural safety in high-pressure environments. Featuring a 37° flare angle, these flanges are designed to meet demanding fluid-dynamic and contamination-control requirements, making them critical components for industrial hydraulic connections.
Series 3000 and Series 6000: Strength and Working Pressures
The range is divided into two main product lines, developed to withstand different maximum recommended pressure loads (expressed in Kg/cm²). Series 3000 provides operating pressures that decrease according to the nominal flange size: starting from 345 Kg/cm² for 1/2″, 3/4″ and 1″ sizes, decreasing to 276 Kg/cm² for the 1″1/4 variant, and reaching 207 Kg/cm² for the largest 1″1/2 size. Series 6000, on the other hand, is specifically sized for heavy-duty applications and provides greater structural strength. It guarantees a constant maximum working pressure of 414 Kg/cm² across the entire size range, uniformly covering all available sizes from 1/2″ up to 1″1/2.
Construction Materials and Ordering Designation
To ensure full compatibility and mechanical strength across a wide range of operating conditions, construction materials are divided into two high-quality categories: S355 carbon steel and AISI316L stainless steel. The ordering designation system is precise. AFS prefixes identify flanges manufactured in S355 material, while variants with the AFX prefix identify the same component in AISI316L stainless steel. The final suffix defines the inclusion of accessories and fastening components.
Dimensions and Thread Types
The flanges cover standardised diameters, with sizes ranging from 1/2″ up to 1″1/2. Each size is associated with a specific JIC thread, measured in inches with UN or UNF pitches, including: 3/4″ 16UNF, 7/8″ 14UN, 1″1/16-12UN, 1″5/16-12UN, 1″5/8-12UN and 1″7/8-12UN. Dimensional precision, including fastening-hole centre distances and construction dimensions, is carefully calibrated to accommodate high-performance sealing O-rings (types 4075, 4100, 4131, 4150, 4187).
Supply Configuration and Fastening Systems
The available supply options provide maximum installation flexibility. In addition to the individual bare flange, the flange can be ordered complete with O-ring, spring washers and fastening screws. Adding the suffix “M” (e.g. AFS…JM) specifies the complete kit with metric screws (from M8x30 to M16x55). With the suffix “U” (e.g. AFS…JU), the kit includes UNC threaded screws (from 5/16″x1″1/4 to 5/8″x2″1/4). An essential design constraint specified in the technical data sheet is that complete sets with UNC screws are available exclusively in the carbon steel version.
