Description

The Seim 2SP Pumps represent the evolution of over 35 years of experience in the design and construction of screw rotary pumps. Designed to ensure maximum reliability under all operating conditions, this series was developed with the aid of software for hydraulic and dimensional optimization, achieving a compact and robust design. Ease of maintenance is a key principle of the project, with simple adjustments and components manufactured without the need for alignment.

Design and Construction Features of Seim 2SP Pumps

The construction versatility allows the Seim 2SP Pumps to adapt to any customer requirement and to meet the strictest international standards, such as API 676 latest edition.

Pump Body, Liner, and Flanges

The pump body, extremely compact, is equipped with large fluid passages and a replaceable wear-resistant liner. This liner can be made of a wide range of materials to solve specific pumping and wear issues, while simplifying maintenance operations. The standard casing is designed to operate up to 20 bar at 200°C. The connection flanges comply with international ISO and/or ANSI standards, with a standard IN-Line arrangement and Side-Top configurations available on request. A special heating jacket is available on request.

Rotors, Bearings, and Seals

The screw shafts are forged from a single bar, ensuring maximum structural integrity. The timing gears and bearings are locked with keys and grooves to allow quick maintenance without the need for adjustments. The bearing configuration includes oversized roller elements (NU series) on the gear side and angular contact ball bearings on the drive side, facilitating the maintenance of mechanical seals. All mechanical seals are standardized according to API 682, with cartridge versions available on request.

Series 2SP Configurations: L1, L2, L3 and L4

The 2SP series is available in four different configurations to cover a wide range of applications.

Model L1

Specifically designed for fluids with lubricating characteristics such as hydraulic oils, lubricating oils, and clean fuel oils. This self-priming double-entry version is equipped with internal bearings and timing gears, with a single mechanical seal or packing seal.

Model L2

Ideal for non-lubricating fluids with low and medium viscosity, such as water, chemicals, and light petrochemicals. The compact design features external bearings separated by seals, representing a cost-effective and easy-to-maintain solution for industrial plants.

Model L3

Suitable for handling non-lubricating, corrosive, and hazardous fluids of low and medium viscosity. This model features a long shaft that allows the installation of a wide range of seal configurations, including cartridge and flanged types, with the possibility of flushing and quenching systems.

Model L4

The heavy-duty configuration, designed for hazardous fluids, hydrocarbons, process fluids, and chemicals under severe operating conditions. The robust shaft and seal chamber design is fully compliant with API 676 and API 682 standards, allowing the installation of any mechanical seal configuration provided by these standards.

Applications and Regulatory Compliance

Thanks to their versatility, the Seim 2SP Pumps are used in numerous sectors. They are suitable for Marine applications and can be supplied with approval from the main certification bodies, including ABS, BV, DNV, GL, LR, and RINA. The option to equip the pumps with an integrated safety valve, customizable according to plant requirements and compliant with API 520, further extends their application in critical contexts.
