Description

Seim PA Pump: Technical Analysis and Operating Features

The Seim PA Pump is a three-screw pump specifically designed for use with hydraulic oils and lubricating oils. Its architecture makes it the ideal solution for applications requiring direct immersion in the tank, serving filtration circuits, cooling systems, or other auxiliary low-pressure circuits.

Construction Features and Materials

The pump design focuses on reliability and precision. The screw set, a key component of the system, is made of alloy steel for both the central and side screws, with an optional version available in nitrided alloy steel for increased resistance.

The pump body is made of aluminum alloy, manufactured through casting or die-casting depending on size. In PAOT models, the body is shell cast in Al Si alloy and fully CNC machined in a single setup to ensure maximum concentricity and perpendicularity tolerances between flange and body. The same series is equipped with stiffening ribs designed to reduce noise.

The PA pump family is divided into two distinct series based on suction configuration.

PAOM Series with Suction Filter

The PAOM model is equipped with an integrated suction filter. This filter, with a 40 MESH screen, is made of carbon steel and features a very large surface area, ensuring proper operation even with partial clogging up to 50%. This series is designed to operate with a continuous discharge pressure of up to 50 bar and peak pressure of up to 75 bar (at 2900 rpm).

PAOT Series with Axial Suction

The PAOT model is characterized by axial suction, with a dedicated flange made of aluminum alloy. This configuration is optimized for continuous discharge pressures up to 30 bar and peak pressures up to 45 bar (at 2900 rpm). The allowable suction pressure for this version ranges from -0.4 to 2 bar.

Performance and Operating Data

Both series of the Seim PA Pump offer flow rates ranging from 10 to 850 l/min. They are designed to handle fluids with kinematic viscosity between 10 and 400 cSt and an operating temperature range from 0 to 100°C. The permitted operating speed ranges from 750 to 3600 rpm, with an average noise level between 58 and 68 dB(A) at 2900 rpm. For proper operation, a maximum suction filtration of 60 microns is recommended for non-abrasive contaminants. The standard direction of rotation is clockwise, viewed from the motor flange side.
