FMA UFI Suction Filters

FMA UFI suction filters are multipurpose filters designed for installation on hydraulic tanks, providing protection on both suction and return/low-pressure lines. Built with an aluminum alloy head and a cold-formed steel bowl, they support a maximum operating pressure of 7 bar. They ensure flow rates up to 600 l/min and are compatible with HH-HL-HM-HV-HTG fluids. They operate effectively within a temperature range from -25°C to +110°C.

Description

FMA Series Suction and Return Filters UFI: Versatility and Protection

The FMA series by UFI Filters represents a versatile solution (“Multipurpose filter”) for filtration in hydraulic circuits. These filters are designed to be installed on the suction line or on the return/low-pressure line, ensuring effective removal of contaminants and protecting sensitive system components, such as pumps.

Construction Features and Materials

FMA filters are built to deliver reliability and durability under demanding operating conditions:

  • Head: Made of aluminum alloy, combining light weight with mechanical strength.
  • Bowl: Cold-formed steel, ensuring structural robustness.
  • Seals: Standard NBR (Nitrile), with optional FKM (Fluoroelastomer) available on request for special applications or high temperatures.

Formula UFI Filter Elements

The series uses EMA family filter elements, available with different filter media configurations to suit specific cleanliness and application requirements:

  • FormulaUFI.CELL (CC/CD): Impregnated cellulose media with filtration ratings of 10 µm and 25 µm.
  • FormulaUFI.WEB (MD/ME/MF/MG): Metal mesh media with filtration ratings of 30 µm, 60 µm, 90 µm, and 250 µm.
  • FormulaUFI.H2O (WR): Specific media for water removal. The filter element is designed to withstand a collapse differential pressure of 300 kPa (3 bar) in accordance with ISO 2941.

Performance and Technical Specifications

FMA UFI suction filters deliver high performance across a wide range of applications:

  • Maximum Flow Rate (Qmax): Up to 600 l/min.
  • Maximum Operating Pressure: 0.7 MPa (7 bar).
  • Operating Temperature: From -25°C to +110°C.
  • Connections: BSP threads available from 1/2″ to 1″1/2.

Fluid Compatibility

These filters are fully compatible with hydraulic fluids classified as HH, HL, HM, HV, and HTG according to ISO 6743/4. A specific treatment for water-glycol fluids is also available (option G).

Accessories and Indicators

FMA filters can be configured with various options for clogging monitoring:

  • Differential clogging indicators or vacuum gauges (visual or electrical).
  • Mounting brackets (accessory B).
