The FPB UFI delivery air filter is a high-pressure in-line filter designed for heavy-duty hydraulic circuits, with a maximum operating pressure of 42 MPa (420 bar). Description

High-Pressure In-Line Filters FPB UFI Series: Extreme Performance and Versatility

The FPB series by UFI Filters represents the pinnacle of high-pressure in-line filtration. Designed to withstand the most severe conditions, these filters (“High pressure inline filter”) ensure protection of sensitive components in hydraulic systems operating up to 420 bar (42 MPa). The combination of robust materials and advanced options makes them suitable for a wide range of industrial and mobile applications.

Construction Features and Materials

The structure of the FPB filter is engineered for maximum reliability:

  • Head: Made of cast iron, ensuring mechanical strength and stability at high pressures.
  • Bowl: Made of steel to withstand high operating pressures.
  • Bypass Valve: Made of steel, with a standard setting of 600 kPa (6 bar) ±10%.
  • Seals: Standard NBR Nitrile, with optional FKM Fluoroelastomer on request.

FormulaUFI Filter Elements

The series uses filter elements from the EPB family, available in two differential collapse resistance versions:

  • Standard Series: Resistance up to 2 MPa (20 bar).
  • H+ Series: High resistance up to 21 MPa (210 bar), ideal for systems without bypass or subject to pressure peaks. Available filter media include FormulaUFI.MICRON (glass microfiber from 5 to 30 µm) and FormulaUFI.WEB (metal mesh from 60 to 90 µm).

Reverse Flow Management

A distinctive feature of the FPB UFI delivery air filter is the availability of reverse flow valves (for FPB2+ and FPB3+ series):

  • Option “R”: Free reverse flow valve. Allows the fluid to be filtered in the normal direction and to bypass the filter element when the flow direction is reversed.
  • Option “P”: Reverse flow valve with integrated bypass for the normal direction (set at 6 bar).
