Description

High-Pressure In-Line Filters FPC UFI Series: Robustness and Reliability

The FPC series by UFI Filters represents an excellent solution for delivery filtration (“High pressure inline filter”) in applications requiring resistance to high pressures and consistent reliability. These filters are designed to be installed directly on the pressure line, protecting the most sensitive components of the hydraulic system from solid contamination.

Construction Features and Materials

The structure of the FPC UFI delivery air filter is engineered to withstand severe operating conditions:

  • Head: Made of cast iron, ensuring dimensional stability and superior mechanical strength.
  • Bowl: Made of steel to withstand pressure peaks up to 35 MPa.
  • Bypass Valve: Made of steel, available with settings of 350 kPa (3.5 bar) or 600 kPa (6 bar) ±10%, ensuring oil flow even in the event of element clogging.
  • Seals: Standard NBR Nitrile, with optional FKM Fluoroelastomer on request for special fluids or high temperatures.

FormulaUFI Filter Elements

The FPC series uses filter elements from the EPC family, available in different configurations to meet every cleanliness and strength requirement:

  • Standard Series: Collapse resistance of 2 MPa (20 bar).
  • H+ Series: High collapse resistance of 21 MPa (210 bar), ideal for systems without bypass or subject to strong pressure surges.
  • Filter Media: Available in FormulaUFI.MICRON (inorganic glass microfiber) with filtration ratings from 5 to 30 µm (ß > 1,000) and FormulaUFI.CELL (impregnated cellulose) rated at 10 µm.

Connections and Maintenance

The FPC range offers installation flexibility with BSP, Metric (M22x1.5) and SAE threaded connections, available in sizes from 1/2″ to 3/4″. Maintenance is simple: removing the bowl allows quick replacement of the filter element. To ensure proper tightening, a torque of 50 Nm +5/0 is recommended for the bowl.
