FSD UFI Suction Filters

FSD UFI suction filters are designed for direct installation on the tank to protect hydraulic pumps from coarse contamination. Available with threaded or flanged connections from 1/2″ to 4″, they offer a maximum flow rate of up to 700 l/min. Built with an anodized aluminum alloy body (or steel for sizes 61–62) and a polyamide bypass valve set at 35 kPa, these filters use FormulaUFI metal mesh elements from 60 to 250 µm, ensuring reliable operation between -25°C and +110°C.

Advanced Protection for Hydraulic Pumps: FSD Series Filters

The FSD series filters by UFI Filters represent a robust and reliable solution for the suction line of hydraulic circuits. Designed to be installed directly on the tank, these components play a critical role in preventing the ingress of solid contaminants into the pump, preserving its integrity and extending the operating life of the entire system.

Construction Features and Materials

The FSD series is engineered to withstand demanding operating conditions. The construction varies according to size:

  • Body and Cover: For standard sizes, they are made of anodized aluminum alloy, ensuring light weight and corrosion resistance. For larger sizes (61 and 62), the housing is constructed of steel to support higher flow rates.
  • Bypass Valve: Made of polyamide and integrated into the system, with a setting of 35 kPa (0.35 bar) ±10% to ensure continuous flow even in the event of clogging or cold starts.
  • Seals: Standard NBR (Nitrile), with FKM (fluoroelastomer) option available on request.

FormulaUFI Filter Elements

The core of the filter consists of ERD family filter elements, designed with metal mesh for surface filtration. Available filter media options include:

  • ME: FormulaUFI.WEB with 60 µm filtration.
  • MF: FormulaUFI.WEB with 90 µm filtration.
  • MG: FormulaUFI.WEB with 250 µm filtration. The filter element is designed to withstand a collapse differential pressure of 1 MPa (10 bar).

Fluid Compatibility

These filters are fully compatible with mineral oil-based fluids according to ISO 6743/4, specifically classes HH, HL, HM, HV, and HTG.

Maintenance and Accessories

Maintenance is simplified thanks to access via the top cover. For monitoring clogging status, the filters can be equipped with clogging indicators (vacuum gauges or vacuum switches) with brass bodies, or supplied with a plugged port.
