HYDRO DRY UFI Recirculation Filters are specialized filter elements designed for the effective removal of free water from hydraulic oils. Using advanced FormulaUFI.H2O filter media, these elements operate by absorption, retaining up to 80% of the water present in the fluid. Ideal for off-line circuits and constant low-pressure systems, they also remove solid contaminants. Compatible with standard FRD, FOF, and FMA series housings, they represent an essential solution for preserving system life.
The HYDRO DRY series by UFI Filters is an innovative solution dedicated to the deep purification of hydraulic fluids, with a specific focus on water removal. Free water in oil is one of the main causes of corrosion, fluid degradation, and mechanical failures; these filter elements are designed to act effectively in recirculation (off-line) circuits, filtration carts, and low-pressure lines.
Hydro-Dry elements use the FormulaUFI.H2O filter media technology, which works through physico-chemical absorption. This technology ensures a high water retention capacity, removing up to 80% of free water present in the fluid.
In addition to water removal, these elements also provide solid contaminant filtration with a ratio of $beta_{21(c)} > 1.000$. However, for maximum efficiency, it is recommended to pre-filter solid particles upstream using a dedicated return line filter.

The use of a clogging indicator calibrated at 130 kPa (1.3 bar) on the filter housing is strongly recommended, to correctly signal the need to replace the saturated element.

Water retention capacity varies depending on element size and oil viscosity. For example, the ERF44NWR model can retain up to 1400 ml of water (with oil at 30 cSt), while more compact models such as EMA11NWR retain approximately 50 ml.
