Mini Water Vac Type SMWV Stauff Oil Purification Unit

The Mini Water Vac Type SMWV is a dedicated purification unit that can be applied directly to the tanks of various types of machinery. This system is designed to dehydrate and clean most types of oils, including lubricating, hydraulic, transformer, and circuit breaker oils. The purified oil meets the most stringent quality requirements.

Operating Principle and Vacuum Dehydration

The unit is a self-regulating filtration system that removes particles, gases, and water. The water removal process is based on evaporation under pure vacuum inside a vacuum chamber at a maximum temperature of +65°C (+149°F). Removal performance is high:

  • 100% of free water and >80% of dissolved water.
  • 100% of free gases and >80% of dissolved gases. The Mini Water Vac does not remove or alter oil additives.

Construction Features and PLC Control

The SMWV-1-30 unit is built to operate semi-automatically once connected and started.

  • Automatic Operation: The dehydration and filtration process is fully automatic and controlled via a PLC unit. The only manual action required is draining the pre-condenser tray and the discharge water container.
  • Heating: Equipped with a 2 kW heating section with a maximum heater temperature of +65°C.
  • Materials: Filter housing, vacuum chamber, and heater chamber are made of anodized aluminum.
  • Dimensions: The unit measures 1200 x 740 x 450 mm and weighs 130 kg.

Filter Elements and Compatibility

Solid particle removal is achieved through a proven STAUFF Systems microfilter. The unit uses a single filter housing with 300 mm long elements. Available filter media include:

  • Inorganic glass fiber: 1, 3, 5, 10, 20 microns (Codes E-01, E-03, E-05, E-10, E-20).
  • Cellulose (Standard): 0.5 micron.
  • Polymer (water absorption): 5 microns (Code EA).

Standard seals are NBR (Buna-N), with an optional FKM (Viton) version available.

Motor Specifications and Power Supply

The unit requires a three-phase power supply. Available options are:

  • 230/400 V AC, 50 Hz, three-phase, 1360 rpm.
  • 255/460 V AC, 60 Hz, three-phase, 1630 rpm.
