MP Filter Series FZB

The MP Filter Series FZB is designed to protect sensitive components in high-pressure hydraulic systems operating under harsh environmental conditions. Fully manufactured in AISI 316L stainless steel, it supports operating pressures up to 320 bar (32 MPa) and maximum flow rates of 75 l/min. Featuring a flanged connection for side manifold mounting, it represents the premium technical solution for off-shore applications, water filtration plants and circuits equipped with corrosive fluids.

Description

Overview and Operating Principle

The MP Filter Series FZB represents an advanced solution for high-pressure pressure line filtration. Designed to be directly connected to the manifold side via a specific flanged interface, it ensures optimal cleanliness levels within the hydraulic system. Fluid flow passes through the filter element from outside to inside (OUT to IN), retaining contaminant particles and protecting sensitive system components from wear-related damage.

Applications and Reference Sectors

Thanks to its outstanding structural robustness, this series is specifically developed to operate with maximum efficiency in harsh environmental conditions. Main application areas include off-shore equipment, complex water filtration systems, and industrial plants exposed to highly corrosive environments or using aggressive fluids in production processes.

Structural Features and Materials

Maximum operational reliability in demanding environments is ensured by the exclusive use of AISI 316L stainless steel for the manufacture of the head, filter body and bypass valve. The sealing system is highly customizable according to thermal and chemical requirements: the standard configuration includes NBR seals (series A) for temperatures ranging from -25°C to +110°C. Optional seals in FPM (series V, for temperatures from -20°C to +120°C) or MFQ (series F, from -50°C to +120°C) are also available to withstand extreme temperature variations. The filter is strictly engineered for vertical installation to optimize fluid dynamics.

Filter Elements and Valves

The housing accommodates inorganic and synthetic microfiber filter elements, with available filtration ratings from 3 to 25 microns to meet specific circuit cleanliness requirements. To ensure maximum structural stability, low-collapse versions (series R, maximum differential pressure of 20 bar) are available, featuring nylon end caps, a tin-plated steel central tube and epoxy-coated metal mesh supports. For more demanding applications, high-collapse elements (series S, differential pressure up to 210 bar) offer superior resistance thanks to tin-plated steel end caps and central tubes combined with stainless steel internal supports. The most extreme variant, series U high-collapse, is entirely constructed in stainless steel (end caps, central tube and both internal and external supports) to guarantee full compatibility with aggressive fluids and prevent any form of corrosion. The assembly may also include a bypass valve set at 6 bar opening pressure (±10% tolerance), essential to relieve excessive pressure drops that could damage the filter element. The configuration can be completed with differential clogging indicators—visual, electrical or electronic—ideal for continuously monitoring filtration efficiency.

Technical Specifications and Operating Limits

In terms of flow capacity, manifold connections support diameters up to 16 mm, allowing flow rates up to 75 l/min. The robust filter body structure withstands a maximum operating pressure of up to 32 MPa, equivalent to 320 bar. Considering the overall operating temperature range, from a minimum of -50°C to a maximum of +120°C, the MP Filter Series FZB confirms itself as a vital and versatile component, essential for ensuring the longevity and reliability of the most complex high-pressure hydraulic infrastructures.
