Description
Design and Operating Principle
High-pressure stainless steel duplex filters belong to the advanced range designed for fluid contamination control in hydraulic circuits. The MP Filter Series FZD is specifically engineered to allow maintenance and replacement of the filter element without interrupting the operation of the entire system. This is made possible by an integrated changeover function and direct connection to system lines via dedicated hydraulic fittings. Additionally, for the FZD051 model, an optional balancing valve is available, designed to equalize the filter housing pressure before switching.
Structural Features and Materials
Structural reliability is ensured through the rigorous use of stainless steel.
- The filter head is entirely manufactured in AISI 316L stainless steel.
- The filter housing is also constructed in AISI 316L stainless steel.
- The optional integrated bypass valve is made of AISI 316L, with an opening pressure set at 6 bar (±10%).
Regarding sealing gaskets, the system offers several options to accommodate specific temperature ranges:
- Standard NBR seals (Series A), operating within a temperature range of -25°C to +110°C.
- Optional FPM seals (Series V), suitable for temperatures from -20°C to +120°C.
- Optional MFQ seals (Series F), ideal for extreme temperatures ranging from -50°C to +120°C.
Installation for all filters in the range is strictly vertical. To prevent air ingress into the system and facilitate maintenance operations, the housing is equipped with both vent ports and drain ports.
Filter Element Configurations
Fluid flow through the filter element occurs from outside to inside (OUT to IN). Different filter element series are available to meet specific differential pressure (Δp) and compatibility requirements:
- Series R: Microfiber elements with collapse resistance up to 20 bar, featuring external support for protection against backpressure generated by the check valve or reverse flow in filters equipped with a bypass valve.
- Series H: High-collapse microfiber elements, resistant up to 210 bar, intended for use in filters without a bypass valve.
- Series S: High-collapse microfiber elements (210 bar) with external support, ideal for protection in circuits without a bypass valve subject to reverse flow.
- Series U: Filter elements entirely made of stainless steel (end caps, core tube, internal and external supports), resistant up to 210 bar and specifically developed for use with aggressive fluids.
All configurations offer various fine filtration ratings, ensuring excellent cleanliness levels within the hydraulic system.
Applications and Safety
The duplex architecture and high-pressure specifications make these components suitable for critical industrial sectors. Primary applications include industrial systems where operational downtime results in significant economic losses, and systems where sudden shutdowns pose direct safety risks to operators or the installation itself. Additionally, to continuously monitor efficiency, differential clogging indicators—visual, electrical or electronic—can be integrated.
