MSZ UFI Suction Filters: Immersed Protection for Hydraulic Systems

The MSZ series by UFI Filters consists of suction filters (strainers) designed to be installed directly inside the tank, connected to the pump suction line. These components play a crucial role in preventing coarse contaminants from entering the circuit, protecting the pump and ensuring the longevity of the hydraulic system.

Design Features and Materials

MSZ filters stand out for their hybrid construction that combines lightness and strength:

Connector: Made of polyamide, it ensures a reliable and corrosion-resistant connection.
Inner Core and End Cap: Made of zinc-plated steel, they provide structural stability to the filter element.
Strength: The structure is designed to withstand a differential collapse pressure of 100 kPa (1 bar).

FormulaUFI Filter Elements

Filtration is provided by metal mesh media from the FormulaUFI.WEB family, ideal for surface filtration in suction applications. Two filtration ratings are available to suit different fluid cleanliness requirements:

MN: Metal mesh with a filtration rating of 90 µm.
DC: Metal mesh with a filtration rating of 250 µm.

Performance and Operating Specifications

MSZ UFI suction filters cover a wide range of flow rates and operating conditions:

Flow Rate: The series handles flow rates up to a maximum (Qmax) of 600 l/min, making it suitable for a wide range of industrial applications.
Temperature: The operating temperature range extends from -25°C to +90°C.
Bypass Valve: On request, the filters can be equipped with a bypass valve set at 30 kPa (0.3 bar) ±10%, to prevent pump cavitation in the event of clogging or low oil temperature.

Compatibility and Connections

The filters are fully compatible with HH, HL, HM, HR, HV and HTG hydraulic fluids according to ISO 6743/4. Tank connection is versatile, with both BSP and NPT threading options available in sizes ranging from 1/2″ to 3″.
