The PHP pumps are variable-displacement vane pumps with high operating pressure and a hydraulic pressure control device that allows the delivered flow to be instantly adjusted according to the circuit’s requirements.
Variable-displacement vane pumps are volumetric pumps; therefore, they deliver a maximum flow rate equal to their displacement multiplied by the rotational speed. The operating pressure is determined by the pressure losses that the fluid encounters along its path through the system.
When the delivery pressure (in the system) equals the pump’s set pressure, the delivered flow adjusts to the values required by the system; once this value is reached, the pump reduces its flow down to zero, maintaining the pressure almost constant. In conditions where no flow is required, the pump delivers only the oil needed to compensate for possible leakages and pilot controls.
The Berarma PHP Pumps are variable-displacement vane pumps with a hydraulic pressure compensator. The maximum flow rate depends on displacement and rotational speed; the operating pressure depends on the system pressure losses. When the set pressure is reached, the pump adjusts the flow to the circuit demand down to zero, keeping the pressure nearly constant; at zero flow it delivers only the oil required to compensate leakages and pilot controls.
Operating pressure: 250 bar.
Internal cartridge: dual suction and delivery passages; double axial hydrostatic compensation of the plates.
Pressure compensator with a new functional concept (reduced peaks and response times).
Flanges and shafts ISO-standardized; connections BSP Gas and/or SAE 3000.
Maximum flow regulator to mechanically limit displacement; through-shaft (option “A”) for multiple pumps.

Sizes 05–1–2–3 with nominal displacements 16 / 20–25–32 / 40–50–63 / 80–100–120 cm³/rev. Flows at 1450 rpm: 23 / 29–36–47 / 58–73–92 / 116–145–174 l/min. Setting range: H 20–250 bar (sizes 05–1–2); H 30–250 bar (size 3).
Sizes 05–1: 800–1800 rpm.
Sizes 2–3: 800–1500 rpm; 1800 rpm allowed with Pmax 160 bar.
Suction pressure: 0.8–1.5 bar absolute; max drain: 1 bar. Direction of rotation: right-hand (shaft side). Shaft loads: radial/axial forces not allowed.
HM (ISO 6743-4), HLP (DIN 51524-2), HEES (ISO 15380), HFD (ISO 12922) with FPM-Viton seals up to Pmax 160 bar; HFC (ISO 12922) with water <40%, NBR seals, Pmax 100 bar, Vmax 1000 rpm, T <40°C.
Operating viscosity: 22–68 cSt; start-up (open delivery): 400 cSt max; viscosity index: ≥100 (ISO 2909).
Fluid inlet temperature: +15 / +60 °C.
Contamination: max ISO 4406 20/18/15 – NAS 9; recommended ISO 4406 18/16/13 – NAS 7.
Standard (single stage); PCS002 (single stage with remote adjustment); PCS003/PCS004 (two stages, respectively with one fixed at the minimum setting or both adjustable); PCS005 (pressure proportional); PCS006 (sizes 2–3 only: single stage with minimum displacement limiter).
PCLS001–PCLS005: Load Sensing in single-/two-stage configurations, with options for remote adjustment, fixed/adjustable settings, or proportional.
