Stauff Spin-On filter elements are designed to deliver superior performance in applications involving hydraulic and lubrication oils. The range stands out for the adoption of 4PRO technology in the glass fiber filter media, an approach that maximizes protection of system components (proACTIVE, proGRESSIVE, proFESSIONAL, proTECTION). This technology ensures extended service life thanks to increased dirt-holding capacity and improves system energy efficiency by reducing initial differential pressure.

Construction Features and Materials

The selection of filter media is crucial to meet specific contamination levels and chemical-physical resistance requirements. Stauff elements are available in the following configurations:

• Inorganic Glass Fiber (Glass Fibre): Based on synthetic fibers with an acrylic resin binder. Provides a three-dimensional labyrinth structure for excellent depth filtration (3…25 µm) and stable beta values (β_x(c) > 200 according to ISO 16889).
• Polyester Fiber: Made entirely of thermally bonded polyester fibers, featuring high resistance to differential pressure and strong chemical compatibility (3…25 µm).
• Cellulose Fiber: Impregnated filter paper, ideal for cost-effective applications with good dirt-holding capacity, not suitable for water-based fluids (10…50 µm).
• Metal Mesh (Stainless Mesh): Stainless steel woven media (1.4301 or 1.4305) with square or Dutch weave, offering low flow resistance and reusability after cleaning (10…1000 µm).

Structural Protection and Flow Optimization

Special attention has been given to the structural integrity of the element. The SE and RE glass fiber filter series are equipped with a perforated plastic protective sleeve that fully surrounds the pleats. This solution prevents damage to the filter pack during transport, storage, and replacement, while also protecting the media from direct impact by large particles. The sleeve additionally helps distribute flow evenly, ensuring efficient flow rates.

Interchangeability and Technical Specifications

Stauff elements are designed for direct interchangeability with major industry brands (such as Argo-Hytos, Donaldson, Hydac, Mahle, Pall, and Parker), while maintaining or exceeding original quality standards. Collapse resistance (according to ISO 2941) for Spin-On elements ranges from 5 to 10 bar, with seals available in NBR (Buna-N), FKM (Viton), and EPDM to suit different temperatures and fluid types.
