The Stauff SRFL-SW Series Inline Filters for industrial water circuits are an engineering solution developed by STAUFF for direct installation in hydraulic system pipelines. Specifically designed to handle fluids such as water and coolants, these components are ideally suited for the steel industry, particularly for pre-filtration or coarse filtration operations in descaling plants.

Housing Construction and Materials

The SRFL-SW series is manufactured in a Simplex configuration. The filter housing is made as standard from carbon steel, a material suitable for most heavy-duty industrial applications. For applications involving demineralized water or corrosive environments, a stainless steel version is available on request. The connections are flanged and comply with ANSI or DIN standards, covering nominal sizes from DN50 to DN300 depending on the filter size (from size 160 to 1250).

Filter Elements and Operating Principle

The core of the system consists of STAUFF REL series filter elements. These are stainless steel basket screen filters designed to ensure a long service life. Fluid flow passes from the inside to the outside, a flow pattern that ensures solid particles remain trapped inside the basket, preventing them from reaching the clean side of the water circuit during element replacement or maintenance operations. Available filtration ratings range from 50 µm to 200 µm.
