FAM UFI Immersed Suction Filters: Strength and Reliability

The UFI Filters FAM series offers a complete range of suction filters (strainers) designed to be installed directly inside the tank, along the pump suction line. These components are essential for preventing coarse contaminants from entering the circuit, protecting sensitive components and extending the operational life of the hydraulic system.

Construction Features and Materials

The FAM filters stand out for their use of high-quality materials that ensure strength and durability:

Connector: Made of aluminum, offering light weight and corrosion resistance.
Inner Core and End Cap: Built from zinc-plated steel, ensuring structural stability of the filtering element.
Bypass Valve: Integrated into the end cap (optional), made of polyamide.
Strength: The structure is designed to withstand a collapse differential pressure of 100 kPa (1 bar).

FormulaUFI Filter Elements

Filtration is provided by metal mesh elements from the FormulaUFI.WEB family, optimized for surface filtration in suction applications. Three filtration grades are available to meet different requirements:

MS: Metal mesh 60 µm.
MN: Metal mesh 90 µm.
DC: Metal mesh 250 µm.

Performance and Technical Specifications

FAM UFI suction filters cover a wide range of applications with high performance:

Maximum Flow Rate (Qmax): Up to 600 l/min.
Operating Temperature: From –25°C to +110°C.
Bypass Valve: Available as option “A,” factory-set at 30 kPa (0.3 bar) ±10% to prevent cavitation under critical conditions (not available for models FAM 130 and 150).
Connections: Wide selection of BSP threads, ranging from 3/8″ to 4″.

Fluid Compatibility

These filters are fully compatible with hydraulic fluids classified as HH, HL, HM, HR, HV and HTG according to ISO 6743/4.

Dimensions and Variants

The FAM range is available in numerous sizes (from series 003 to 150) to fit reservoirs and flow rates of various capacities, ensuring optimal filtration efficiency in all configurations.
