The FTA–FTB series by UFI Filters represents a specialized solution for filtration in hydrostatic transmission circuits. These filters are designed to handle combined suction and return flows, effectively protecting critical components such as boost pumps and emergency valves.

Configurations and Operating Principle

The range is divided into two main versions to suit different system requirements:

• FTA Series: Featuring an internal bypass valve.
• FTB Series: Equipped with an external bypass valve.

The system is designed to filter the oil returning to the tank while simultaneously supplying the suction line of the boost pump, reducing the risk of cavitation and ensuring clean oil to the closed-loop circuit.

Construction Features and Materials

The filters are built to withstand harsh operating conditions:

• Head: Made of aluminum alloy.
• Cover: Polyamide for size 2 (FTA/FTB 23) and aluminum alloy for size 3 (FTA/FTB 31-32-33).
• Bowl: Steel, ensuring structural robustness.
• Seals: Standard NBR (Nitrile).

Filter Elements and Media

The series uses FormulaUFI.MICRON technology with inorganic glass fiber media, specifically designed to ensure high cleanliness standards (ß > 1,000) even at high differential pressures (Δp 2 MPa / 20 bar). Available filtration ratings are:

• FC: 12 µm.
• FS: 16 µm.

Accessories and Valve Options

The filters can be configured with various valve options to optimize circuit performance:

• Option A: Pressurization valve (recommended for horizontal mounting).
• Option B: Pressurization valve + drain port (recommended for vertical mounting).
• Options C and D: Include a suction bypass with a 125 µm strainer that protects the emergency valve in the event of a temporary lack of oil at the boost pump suction.
