The FOX HGVS Series Inline Cylindrical Pulsation Dampener represents an advanced technical solution specifically designed to absorb pulsations in high-performance hydraulic systems, with no maintenance required.
Construction Features and Materials
The versatility of the HGVS Series is reflected in the choice of construction materials. Dampener bodies are made of carbon steel for standard applications. For corrosive environments or specific requirements, the HGVSX Series is available, manufactured entirely from AISI 304L or 316L stainless steel. The manufacturer also provides the use of exotic materials to meet the most complex system challenges. The external finish consists of epoxy painting applied according to FOX standard procedures, with the possibility of adapting the painted body to project specifications. Internally, the element consists of bladders made from elastomeric compounds such as HNBR and NBR.
Operating Principle and Advantages
The primary function of the dampener is the drastic reduction of vibrations and pressure oscillations within the hydraulic system. By absorbing pressure peaks, the device significantly extends the mechanical and operational life of valves, actuators, and all other connected hydraulic components.
Specific Applications
The cylindrical design is structured for strictly vertical installation. The preferred application for the HGVS Series is damping pulsations generated during suction or discharge by triplex reciprocating pumps. A version specifically dedicated to high pressures is also produced.
Technical Specifications and Connections
The system handles pressures up to 1379 bar, or 20,000 PSI. The test pressure (PT) is calculated by applying the coefficients PS x 1.43, 1.3, or 1.5. The range stands out for its wide availability of volumes, offering capacities up to 5,000 liters, with dimensions customizable according to the application. Hydraulic adaptability is ensured by connections with SAE 3000 and SAE 6000 flanges, ANSI B16.5, or UNI/DIN. Special connections can always be manufactured upon request to suit any hydraulic connection.
International Compliance and Certifications
Upon request, the pulsation dampeners are supplied in compliance with numerous directives. The list includes CE (2014/68/EU-PED), ATEX (2014/34/EU), ASME VIII Div. 1 or Div. 2 (Latest Edition) with U-Stamp + NB, EN 14359, PD5500 (UK), EN 13445, and AS1210/4343 (Australia). Specific approvals are available, including KOSHA (Korea), SELO (China), CU-TR 032/2013 (Russia), DOSH (Malaysia), NR-13 (Brazil), CRN (Canada), and ARH (Algeria), with testing available through BV, DNV/RINA, and Lloyd’s/ABS.
