FOX VS Series Oil-Side Reduction
The product range including the FOX VS Series oil-side reduction, VSA flow regulators and NS nipples represents a fundamental technical solution for fluid control and interconnection near hydraulic accumulators. Specifically designed for the hydraulic sector and contamination control, these components ensure optimal performance and safeguard the entire system.
VSA Flow Regulators: Protection and Control
The VSA Series flow regulators are an essential accessory for installation on accumulators without a poppet valve and in circuits where negative pressure peaks occur. Their mechanical function is to preserve the bladder or diaphragm, preventing it from hitting the bottom of the accumulator and becoming irreparably damaged. Optimal adjustment is achieved by bringing the screw to the end of its travel and turning it counterclockwise by 1/4 turn. The available models, namely VSA 18, VSA 21 and VSA 34, support a maximum pressure of 330 bar. The maximum fluid flow rate, without the accumulator installed, is 50 l/min for the VSA 18 and VSA 21 models, and 90 l/min for the VSA 34 model. When operating with the accumulator, the maximum flow rate increases according to a function directly proportional to the nitrogen precharge value.
Standard and Special VS Series Reductions
The VS reduction series allows secure coupling between hydraulic connections of different sizes. Standard models offer a wide range of dimensions: the VS21 model features M18x1.5-M and 1/2″ BSP-F connections, with an H height of 24 mm and a 32 mm hexagon. The VS34 model features 1-1/4″ BSP-M and 3/4″ BSP-F connections, a 50 mm hexagon and an H height of 11 mm. For larger sizes, the VS210, VS212, VS214, VS211-2, VS234 and VS238 models all feature a 2″ BSP-M D connection and a 70 mm hexagon with an 11 mm height, varying only the F connection from 1/2″ BSP-F up to 1-1/2″ BSP-F. Each standard reduction uses specific OR2081, OR3150 or OR3218 O-ring seals.
The range also includes special oil-side reductions. The VS18/M33-12 and VS18/M33-18 models feature M33x1.5-M metric connections, with a 41 mm hexagon and an H height of 16 mm. For international interfaces, the VS18/SAE8 and VS18/SAE12 models offer 1-1/16″-8 UNF and 1-1/16″-12 LINF connections respectively, with H heights of 25 mm and OR2081 seals.
NS Nipples and Supply Conditions
Completing the catalogue, the NS Series nipples provide additional joining options. The NS15 model features 3/8″ BSP and M18x1.5 threads, while the NS21 model offers M18x1.5 and 1/2″ BSP connections. Both nipples are manufactured with a 27 mm hexagon. Special versions are also manufactured upon request across all product segments to meet any application requirement.
