Description
Oleo Tecnica BSP Tapered Threaded Stubs are a key connection solution for hydraulic systems operating under medium- and high-pressure conditions. The mechanical design of these adapters, also identified as BSP Tapered Threaded Adapters, ensures optimal hydraulic sealing in industrial fluid power circuits.
Pressure Specifications and Series
These components are divided into two main application categories according to the maximum recommended working pressure.
Series 3000 provides different performance levels depending on the nominal size. For sizes 1/2″, 3/4″ and 1″, the maximum allowable pressure reaches 345 Kg/cm². As the diameter increases to 1″1/4, the working pressure is 276 Kg/cm², decreasing proportionally to 207 Kg/cm² for the larger 1″1/2 and 2″ sizes.
Series 6000, on the other hand, has been specifically designed for more demanding applications, providing consistent sealing performance at significantly higher pressures. Regardless of the nominal size, across the entire range from 1/2″ to 2″, the maximum recommended working pressure is uniformly and strictly set at 414 Kg/cm², thereby ensuring an excellent safety factor for high-power hydraulic systems.
Construction Features and Materials
From a metallurgical standpoint, the components are available in two different alloys in order to suit a wide range of operating environments and working fluids. The standard version is manufactured from A105 material (or equivalent material). For environments characterized by high corrosive potential or specific system requirements, the stubs can be supplied in AISI 316L stainless steel.
All A105 steel models feature a Cr3 zinc-plated surface treatment. This specific process provides excellent resistance to oxidation and wear over time.
Configurations and Designation
The technical design of the BSP Tapered Threaded Stubs includes two main sealing configurations:
- Stub with O-Ring seat: identified by the codes SFS…GC (for A105) and SFX…GC (for AISI 316L). This configuration accommodates an O-Ring to maximize the leak tightness of the connection.
- Stub without O-Ring seat: identified by the codes SFS…GCC (for A105) and SFX…GCC (for AISI 316L), developed for different mechanical sealing standards.
Dimensions and Installation
The size range extensively covers industrial requirements, starting from 1/2″ up to 2″. The construction dimensions (A, B, C, D, E, F and wrench size CH) are provided with maximum engineering precision. Weight ranges from a minimum of 0.11 Kg (1/2″ SFS301GC model) up to a maximum of 1.45 Kg (2″ SFS606GC model from Series 6000). Depending on the model, the O-Rings used range from type 4075 for the smaller sizes up to type 4225 for the larger diameters.
