Construction Features and Materials
The range of these components is available in two main construction variants based on the material used: S355 carbon steel, identified by the AFS base series, and AISI 316L stainless steel, identified by the AFX series. This dual material availability ensures full compatibility with different environmental and operating requirements, while providing both high mechanical strength and advanced protection against corrosion. The threaded connection follows the “UN” standard with a parallel thread, ensuring a precise, secure mechanical connection with high resistance to the vibrational stresses typical of heavy machinery.
Technical Specifications and Working Pressures
The flanges are classified into two main pressure categories to meet different system requirements. Series 3000 supports a maximum recommended working pressure of 345 Kg/cm² for nominal diameters of 1/2″, 3/4″ and 1″. For the 1″1/4 diameter, the maximum recommended pressure is 276 Kg/cm², while for the 1″1/2 size it decreases to 207 Kg/cm². For more demanding applications, Series 6000 maintains a constant and guaranteed maximum working pressure of 414 Kg/cm² across all catalogue sizes, from 1/2″ up to 1″1/2. Both series are designed to be paired with specific standard O-rings (models 4075, 4100, 4131, 4150, 4187), which vary proportionally according to the selected flange size.
Supply Options and Designation
The coding system adopted makes it possible to select customised configurations at the ordering stage, ensuring maximum operational flexibility for industry professionals. Components can be supplied as an individual flange, identified by the suffix 90T, or in complete kits including fastening screws, spring washers and an O-ring seal. Complete versions can be ordered with metric screws using the suffix 90TM, or with UNC screws using the suffix 90TU. It is important to emphasise that the UNC screw set is available exclusively in carbon steel, regardless of the material selected for the main flange body. Fitting weight varies according to series and dimensions, starting from 0.28 Kg for 1/2″ models and reaching up to 2.75 Kg for 1″1/2 Series 6000 models.
