Oleo Tecnica 90° Socket-Weld Counter Flanges

Oleo Tecnica 90° Socket-Weld Counter Flanges ensure secure hydraulic connections in very high-pressure circuits. Available in Series 3000 (up to 345 Kg/cm²) and Series 6000 (up to 414 Kg/cm²), they are manufactured in S355 steel or AISI 316L stainless steel. They offer metric or UNC fastening holes for sizes from 1/2″ to 2″, ensuring sealing performance and structural strength. The actual working pressure is determined by the wall thickness and material of the pipe.
The available product codes are: GFS08090S, GFS08090S038, GFS10090S, GFS10290S, GFS10490S, GFS10690S, GFS10890S, GFS40190S012, GFS40190S038, GFS40290S, GFS40390S, GFS40490S, GFS40590S, GFS40690S.

Description

Construction Features of Oleo Tecnica 90° Socket-Weld Counter Flanges

Oleo Tecnica 90° Socket-Weld Counter Flanges represent an ideal engineering solution for creating leak-tight hydraulic connections in systems operating under high and very high pressure. The 90-degree design allows fluid direction changes to be managed while optimising space within the circuit. The socket-weld fastening system ensures an extremely robust mechanical connection between the pipe and the flange body, eliminating the risk of leakage and ensuring maximum stability even in the presence of vibrations or pulsating loads typical of heavy-duty industrial applications.

Series 3000 and Series 6000: Performance and Pressures

The catalogue is divided into two main families, designed to cover a broad range of operating requirements. Series 3000 is intended for medium- and high-pressure circuits. Load capacities vary according to size: 1/2″, 3/4″ and 1″ versions withstand maximum recommended pressures of up to 345 Kg/cm². For the 1″1/4 size, the limit is 276 Kg/cm², while for the larger 1″1/2 and 2″ diameters it is 207 Kg/cm².

For more demanding applications, Series 6000 provides higher performance. This version supports working pressures of up to 414 Kg/cm² for 1/2″, 3/4″ and 1″ sizes. For larger sizes, the specifications indicate a maximum pressure of 375 Kg/cm² for the 1″1/4 version, 320 Kg/cm² for the 1″1/2 version and 250 Kg/cm² for the heavy-duty 2″ version. Both series cover a size range from 1/2″ up to 2″, offering complete scalability throughout the system.

Materials and Fastening Hole Designation

The reliability of these counter flanges derives directly from the metallurgical quality of the construction materials. Components can be ordered in S355 carbon steel, identified by the “GFS” prefix and suitable for the vast majority of mechanical applications. For aggressive operating environments and chemical or marine sectors, the range is available in AISI 316L stainless steel, identified by the “GFX” prefix. The fastening interface is available in two internationally standardised configurations: metric threaded fastening holes (designation S) and UNC threaded fastening holes (designation SU). The weight of each component reflects its structural strength, starting from 0.28 Kg for compact sizes and reaching 3.85 Kg for the largest Series 6000 flanges.

Sizing and Determination of System Pressure

During design and installation, it is essential to distinguish between the specifications of the individual component and those of the complete circuit. The stated maximum recommended working pressure (from 207 to 414 Kg/cm²) is calculated exclusively on the structural strength of the flange. However, the actual maximum working pressure of the complete system is determined by the wall thickness and material type (steel grade) of the pipe used. The technician must therefore size the pipe according to the pressure peaks expected in the hydraulic system.
