Oleo Tecnica Socket-Weld Flanges are a fundamental component in industrial hydraulic systems, ensuring highly secure connections for circuits operating under high pressure. The technical range is divided into two primary variants: Series 3000 and Series 6000, designed to cover a wide spectrum of operating requirements. Dimensional accuracy and structural strength ensure optimal hydraulic sealing while minimising the risk of leakage.

Technical Specifications and Working Pressures

Series 3000 and Series 6000 flanges differ structurally in order to accommodate different pressure loads.
Series 3000 is available in a size range from 1/2″ up to 5″. The maximum recommended working pressure for this series reaches 345 kg/cm² for the more compact sizes (from 1/2″ to 1″1/4), progressively decreasing to 276 kg/cm² (1″1/2), 207 kg/cm² (2″ and 2″1/2), and finally to 34 kg/cm² for the largest diameters from 3″1/2 up to 5″.
Series 6000 is engineered for more demanding applications. Available sizes range from 1/2″ to 3″. This series withstands a maximum recommended working pressure of 414 kg/cm² (for 1/2″, 3/4″ and 1″ sizes), decreasing to 375 kg/cm² (1″1/4), 320 kg/cm² (1″1/2) and 200 kg/cm² for the largest 3″ size.
It should be noted that the stated maximum recommended working pressure is based exclusively on the construction specifications of the flange. The maximum working pressure of the complete system will then be determined by the wall thickness and material type of the pipe used in the system.

Construction Features and Materials

To meet different environmental and operating requirements, Oleo Tecnica Socket-Weld Flanges are manufactured using two specific material types:

• S355 Steel: High-strength carbon steel, identified in the ordering code by the “AFS” prefix.
• AISI 316L Stainless Steel: High-quality corrosion-resistant material, identified by the “AFX” prefix, ideal for chemically aggressive environments or marine applications.

Component weights vary according to size: Series 3000 ranges from 0.25 kg up to 5.80 kg, while Series 6000 ranges from 0.25 kg up to a maximum of 11.2 kg for the heavy-duty 3″ model (AFS508S).

Fasteners and Seals

Flange fastening and hydraulic sealing are ensured by calibrated fastening components. All models include a seat for dedicated O-rings (e.g. type 4075 for 1/2″ sizes, up to 4537 for 5″).
The fastening system can be equipped with metric screws (from M8x30 up to M30x100) or UNC threaded screws (from 5/16″x1″1/4 up to 1″1/8×3″1/2). UNC screw sets are available exclusively in carbon steel. It should also be noted that, for the specific AFS508S model, the available screw sets are exclusively metric-threaded and made of carbon steel.

Ordering Designation and Configurations

To simplify integration and procurement, the flanges can be ordered in three distinct configurations, defined by the code suffix:

• Flange only: final designation “S” (e.g. AFS…S, AFX…S).
• Flange complete with metric set: includes metric screws, spring washers and O-ring, with final designation “SM” (e.g. AFS…SM).
• Flange complete with UNC set: includes UNC screws, spring washers and O-ring, with final designation “SU” (e.g. AFS…SU).
