CFA Series Filler Breather Caps: Protection and Functionality for Tanks

The CFA series by UFI Filters represents a robust and comprehensive solution for managing filling and venting in hydraulic tanks. These components are designed to perform a dual function: allowing fluid filling while preventing the ingress of macroscopic contaminants through a dedicated strainer, and filtering the air entering the tank to maintain pressure balance.

Materials and Construction

CFA caps are built to withstand harsh industrial environments. The construction includes:

Body, flange and strainer: Made of zinc-plated steel to ensure corrosion resistance.
Cover: Made of chromed steel, offering durability and aesthetic protection.
Seals: Standard Sugheroil, with an optional NBR Nitrile version available specifically for pressurized versions.

Filter Elements and Performance

The integrated, non-replaceable air filter is available in two media variants to suit different levels of environmental contamination:

Impregnated Cellulose (CC): With an air filtration rating of 3 µm (10 µm nominal).
Polyurethane Foam (PE): With an air filtration rating of 10 µm (40 µm nominal). The unit ensures a maximum air flow rate (Qmax) of up to 750 l/min.

Mounting Options and Accessories

The versatility of the CFA series is ensured by various configurations:

Connections: Standard flange (type 24557/2). For the CFA23 model, additional options are available such as weld-on flange (W) or cap extension (T).
Pressurization Valve: A version with a pressurization valve set at 35 kPa (0.35 bar) can be requested to maintain a slight positive pressure inside the tank.
Safety: CFA21 and CFA22 models are equipped with an internal safety chain. An option with a padlock provision (P) is also available to prevent unauthorized access.

Operating Conditions

CFA UFI filler breather caps operate effectively within a temperature range from -25°C to +110°C and are fully compatible with HH, HL, HM, HV and HTG hydraulic fluids according to ISO 6743/4.
