Grices CE Series Hydraulic Cylinders are welded cylinders designed for industrial and mobile machinery operating in duty cycles without fatigue stress. Featuring oversized guides and precision machining, they provide a nominal pressure of 16 MPa and a maximum pressure of 25 MPa, with bore sizes from 40 to 200 mm. Their modular construction allows countless configurations through the EPC configurator. The available base codes are: CE/40/22, CE/40/28, CE/50/28, CE/50/36, CE/63/36, CE/63/45, CE/80/45, CE/80/56, CE/100/56, CE/100/70, CE/125/70, CE/125/90, CE/160/90, CE/160/110, CE/200/110, CE/200/140.
Grices CE Series welded hydraulic cylinders for industrial machinery. Maximum pressure 25 MPa, bore sizes from 40 to 200 mm, with hydraulic testing carried out on 100% of production.
Grices CE Series Hydraulic Cylinders operate by converting the hydraulic energy of the incoming fluid into clean, balanced linear mechanical force. The fluid flows through the oil ports located on the end caps. Users can configure the orientation of these ports by independently selecting their position on four different sides (Side 1, Side 2, Side 3 or Side 4) for both the front and rear end caps. This flow precisely moves the internal piston connected to the single piston rod, allowing the actuator to extend and retract. Upon specific request to the technical department, a double-rod construction option is also available for symmetrical applications.
The CE Series construction is characterised by engineering solutions designed to maximise structural strength, beginning with oversized internal guides and meticulous machining. Structural materials are carefully selected: the outer barrel, internal piston and rear end cap are made of high-strength steel. In the standard configuration, the piston rod is made of chrome-plated steel, while hardened and chrome-plated or nickel and chrome-plated versions are available for demanding or corrosive operating environments. The internal guide is made of cast iron and interfaces with guide rings moulded in acetal resin. The standard hydraulic sealing package includes a high-efficiency polyurethane wiper and piston rod seal, an O-ring combined with a PBK ring made of nitrile rubber or polyurethane, and a dedicated nitrile rubber piston seal. For electronic position monitoring requirements, an internal position transducer with a 4/20 mA or 0/10 V analogue signal output can also be integrated, together with optional air bleed valves.
In terms of hydraulic performance, these cylinders operate reliably at a nominal pressure of 16 MPa and can safely reach a maximum pressure of 25 MPa. The specified working pressures apply strictly to applications without mechanical shocks or impacts. The dimensional range includes bore sizes from 40 to 200 mm and operating strokes of up to 4000 mm. Two different piston rod diameters are available for each selected bore size. Installation is facilitated by eight different mounting variants: basic version (EB), front flange (FA), rear flange (FP), foot mounting (PI), male clevis (CM), female clevis (CF), spherical clevis (CS) and intermediate trunnion mounting (OI).
These welded cylinders are ideally suited as hydraulic components for complex industrial machinery and mobile machinery applications. They are designed for regular duty cycles that do not subject structural components to fatigue stress. Where the final application involves extreme loads, very high operating pressures or intensive operation with a high number of cycles, dedicated fatigue-resistant mountings and piston rod thread fittings must be used . Through the advanced EPC configurator, available at http://configuratore.grices.it/, technicians are guided through the rapid selection of all available options, allowing them to define the final cylinder code and immediately access 2D, 3D and PDF drawings .
