Designed in strict compliance with ISO 6020/2 and DIN 24554, Grices CH Series Hydraulic Cylinders are compact actuators with square end caps and tie rods, ideal for demanding industrial applications. They provide a nominal pressure of 16 MPa and withstand maximum pressure peaks of up to 25 MPa. They can be configured with bore sizes from 25 to 200 mm and strokes of up to 4000 mm. The wide range of seals ensures maximum compatibility with different fluids and temperature conditions. The available product codes, according to the mounting type, are: CH-FA, CH-FP, CH-PI, CH-CM, CH-CF, CH-CS, CH-OA, CH-OP, CH-OI, CH-AP, CH-TA, CH-TP, CH-ZA, CH-ZP.
The Grices CH Series Hydraulic Cylinders are hydraulic actuators sized in accordance with the international ISO 6020/2 and DIN 24554 standards. Manufactured using modern CNC technologies, these compact cylinders with square end caps and tie rods are designed to ensure maximum reliability in every industrial application. They operate reliably at a continuous nominal pressure of 16 MPa (160 bar) and can withstand a maximum test pressure of 25 MPa (250 bar). Operating temperatures range from -20°C to +150°C, depending on the fluid used and the seal compound installed.
Every construction detail has been engineered to maximise the component’s service life.
Cylinder barrel: Manufactured from premium-quality hot-rolled or cold-drawn steel tubing with a high wall thickness. The internal bore features a microfinish with an Ra roughness of no more than 0.4 microns and a tight H8 tolerance, ensuring smooth movement without sticking.
Piston rod: Manufactured from high-alloy steel, ground and hard chrome-plated to provide excellent resistance to wear and corrosion. This specific surface finish, below 0.2 microns, helps to significantly extend seal service life. Upon request, the series can be supplied with induction-hardened, nickel-plated or stainless-steel piston rods.
End caps and piston: The steel end caps incorporate enlarged internal passages, drastically reducing pressure losses in the hydraulic circuit. The piston, made of a special material, provides stable system guidance and counteracts deflection caused by radial loads.
For high-speed applications, with operating speeds above 0.1 m/s, or when handling vertical loads, the cylinders are equipped with progressive front and rear end-of-stroke cushioning systems.
These systems incorporate self-centring plungers that gradually decelerate the loads, providing inherent safety in the event of a failure and keeping pressure peaks below 250 bar.
Cushioning is precisely calibrated through dedicated needle valves equipped with a retaining system to prevent accidental removal.
For bore sizes from 40 to 200 mm, proximity sensors can be integrated into the end caps. These PNP devices withstand dynamic pressures of up to 350 bar and accurately detect the piston end-of-stroke position.
Sealing performance is ensured by seals installed in grooves compliant with ISO 7425, providing exceptional adaptability.
Type A (Standard): Ideal for mineral oil and speeds of up to 0.5 m/s, while maintaining excellent static sealing performance.
Type B: Low-friction design for higher speeds of up to 4 m/s.
Type C: Viton seals for high temperatures of up to 135°C and suitable for use with phosphate ester-based fluids.
Type E: Made of NBR and PTFE, specifically designed for use with water-glycol emulsions. For installations with strokes exceeding 1000 mm, the cylinder can also be equipped with special spacers that increase the piston guidance area and prevent mechanical overload.
