The Miselli Filler and Drain Cap TCN – TCNS – TSN Series is a threaded cap equipped with a hexagonal head, specifically engineered as an accessory for hydraulic components. The range is divided into three functional macro-categories that define the entire series. The TCN designation identifies caps strictly designed for oil filling operations. Models belonging to this variant display a dedicated filling graphic symbol, combined with the wording “OIL”. The TCNS code classifies oil filler caps that incorporate a breather system. In this design, the breather hole is physically made on the hexagonal head of the component, with a technical diameter ranging from 2 to 3.5 millimeters. Like the TCN models, the TCNS versions also feature the filling graphic symbol and the text indication “OIL”. Finally, the TSN designation defines the series of caps dedicated exclusively to oil draining. This specific version is marked with a dedicated oil drain graphic symbol.
Materials and Construction Features
The entire body of the closing caps is molded in plastic, using the properties of a high-performance thermoplastic material such as Polyamide 66. The use of this specific polymer gives the component excellent mechanical resistance, ensuring consistent performance in both low- and high-temperature environments. Polyamide 66 also ensures strong dimensional stability and high resistance to accidental impacts. Structurally, the cap profile adopts a hexagonal head; in some specific versions, supplied as standard exclusively with a rubber gasket, the hexagon surface is plain. Standard production provides the component in black. To meet specific visual coding requirements on systems, the caps are also available in red, subject to specific requests and adequate quantities.
Sealing Systems and Operating Conditions
Reliable hydraulic sealing is ensured by carefully selected gaskets. In its basic configuration, the component is fitted with a flat sealing gasket made of FASIT 202 fiber. Alternatively, to ensure maximum chemical compatibility with different hydraulic fluids, all caps in the TCN, TCNS, and TSN series can be equipped with a flat gasket in 70 Shore NBR rubber. To request this specific sealing option, the suffix “/G” must be added to the base item code. The operating temperature range in which the component maintains its structural and sealing characteristics unchanged is extremely wide: the certified operating temperature extends from a minimum of -30°C up to a peak of +100°C.
Dimensions, Threads, and Tightening Torques
Optimal installation of the component requires the application of a specific force, indicated in the technical data by the “Nm” value, which represents the recommended tightening torque. To ensure maximum interchangeability and adaptability to hydraulic housings, the series is produced with a wide variety of threads. The range includes connections with Gas (G) threads, available in nominal sizes G1/4, G3/8, G1/2, G3/4, G1, G1 1/4, G1 1/2, and G2. At the same time, production includes a comprehensive range of metric threads (M), starting from M 10×1.5 up to M 40×1.5, covering numerous intermediate pitches such as M 12×1.5, M 14×1.5, M 16×1.5, M 18×1.5, M 20×1.5, and M 22×1.5.
