The MP Filter Series HPB is a high-pressure bowl kit designed to protect sensitive components in high-pressure hydraulic systems of mobile machinery. It integrates directly into hydraulic control blocks, supporting a maximum working pressure of 420 bar and flow rates up to 300 l/min. Made from phosphated steel, it operates in a temperature range of -25°C to +110°C and offers multiple filtration configurations including inorganic microfiber and wire mesh.
The MP Filter Series HPB is designed as a high-pressure bowl kit specifically developed to protect sensitive components in high-pressure hydraulic systems installed on mobile machinery. The filter family is divided into two main sizes, the HPB050 model and the HPB150 model, both designed for strictly vertical installation.
A key feature of these filters is their ability to be integrated directly within the hydraulic control blocks. Depending on the specific system requirements, the filter supports directional flows from the outside to the inside of the filter element (From OUT to IN).
The HPB series filters ensure high performance, supporting a maximum working pressure of 42 MPa, equivalent to 420 bar. The maximum system flow rate is up to 300 l/min, calculated considering a complete filter under pressure with a pressure drop (Delta p) of 1.5 bar. The reference hydraulic fluid used to derive these technical specifications has a kinematic viscosity of 30 mm²/s (cSt) and a density of 0.86 kg/dm³. In terms of safety and structural integrity, the test pressure is set at 63 MPa (630 bar), while the minimum burst pressure is 126 MPa (1260 bar). The component also passes fatigue tests with pulsating pressure for 1,000,000 cycles, with pressure fluctuations ranging from 0 to 42 MPa.
The external housing of the filter is constructed entirely of phosphated steel, a material selected for its ability to withstand high loads and corrosion. The HPB 050 model is produced in five different lengths, with weights ranging from 1.10 kg to 3.50 kg and internal volumes ranging from 0.30 dm³ to 1.20 dm³. The larger HPB 150 model is available in three length variations, weighing from 2.90 kg to 6.30 kg, with volumes from 0.45 dm³ to 1.10 dm³.
To achieve the optimal cleanliness levels required by the system, the HPB filters offer various filter element configurations. You can choose the low collapse element, series “N”, suitable for use in blocks with a bypass valve (with Delta p at 20 bar). Alternatively, for blocks without a bypass valve, the high-collapse element, series “S”, with an external support (with Delta p at 210 bar), is used. The available filter media range from inorganic microfiber, for fine filtration grades of 3, 6, 10, 16, and 25 microns, to wire mesh (25 microns) dedicated to the filtration grade of 25 microns.
The sealing system employs standard NBR seals (Series A), with the option to select FPM seals (Series V) for specific chemical or thermal requirements. Finally, the operating temperature range for the proper functioning of the filter extends from a minimum of -25°C to a maximum of +110°C.
