MP Filter Series LMP 124

The MP Filter Series LMP 124 is an in-line component for return and suction applications in hydraulic systems with multiple circuits. It reaches a maximum pressure of 8 MPa (80 bar) and flow rates up to 120 l/min. It provides pressurized microfiltered oil to the feed pump of hydrostatic systems. Built with an aluminum head and a cataphoretic-coated steel body, it integrates female connections up to 1″ and bypass valves for tank or suction line applications.

MP Filter Series LMP 124

Description

The MP Filter Series LMP 124 consists of a range of in-line filters specifically designed for return and suction lines within hydraulic systems equipped with two or more circuits, whether open-loop or closed-loop. These filters provide pressurized and purified oil through fine filtration directly to the feed pump of hydrostatic systems. They connect directly to the system lines through hydraulic fittings and are designed for vertical mounting.

Applications and Reference Industries

Typical applications include mobile machinery equipped with onboard hydrostatic systems. In particular, this component is essential for machines such as skid steer loaders, telescopic handlers, dumpers, and street sweepers.

Design Features and Materials

The materials used for the body construction ensure high resistance and durability. The filter head is made of aluminum, while the housing is made of steel treated with cataphoretic coating. The bypass valve uses brass and aluminum components. The available connections are female threaded, with sizes up to 1 inch, capable of handling a maximum return flow rate of 120 l/min. The filters use standard NBR seals (series A), suitable for operating temperatures between -25°C and +110°C, with the option of FPM seals (series V). Filter weights range from 1.70 kg to 2.70 kg and volumes from 0.75 dm³ to 1.53 dm³, depending on the selected length among the four available options.

Valves and Safety Systems

The system integrates several valve options to manage flow variations and optimize safety. It includes a bypass valve to the tank that relieves excessive pressure drop across the filter media when the return flow exceeds the suction flow. There is also a bypass valve to the suction line, equipped with an additional suction filter element, which operates when the return flow is not sufficiently higher than the suction flow. The nominal opening pressure of the bypass valve is set at 0.25 MPa (2.5 bar) with a tolerance of 10%. A depressurization valve reduces the internal pressure during maintenance operations. Monitoring is supported by visual, electrical, and electronic differential clogging indicators.

Technical Specifications and Performance

The filter operates with a maximum working pressure of up to 8 MPa (80 bar) and handles volumetric flow rates up to 120 l/min. Structural strength tests indicate a test pressure of 12 MPa (120 bar) and a minimum burst pressure of 24 MPa (240 bar). The component passes rigorous pulsating pressure fatigue tests for 1,000,000 cycles, with pressure variations from 0 to 8 MPa (80 bar). The flow direction through the filter element strictly proceeds from outside to inside (from OUT to IN). The filter elements provide differential pressure resistance of 20 bar for the standard series (N). Configurable filter media include inorganic microfiber (with filtration from 3 to 25 µm), wire mesh (25, 60, 90 µm), and resin-impregnated paper (10, 25 µm).
