MP Filter Series MFB

The MP Filter Series MFB is a return-line filtration kit designed to protect tanks from system contamination. Optimized for submerged or semi-submerged installation, it reduces space requirements inside the tank. It supports maximum working pressures up to 0.8 MPa (8 bar) and flow rates up to 700 l/min. Ideal for mobile machinery applications, it ensures maximum efficiency thanks to the integrated bypass valve and compatibility with optional anti-foam diffusers.

MP Filter Series MFB

Description

The return component range is specifically designed to ensure tank protection against contamination levels originating from system circuits. The structural design allows direct integration inside molded tanks. For installation, the intended positioning is strictly in vertical configuration. Thanks to a design developed for submerged or semi-submerged installation, it is possible to optimize and save valuable space inside the tank.

During operation, the flow direction through the filter element strictly follows the path from outside to inside, specified as OUT to IN. It is a fundamental requirement that the filter outlet always remains completely submerged in the fluid; this prevents the generation of aeration or the formation of harmful foam inside the hydraulic tank.

Design Features and Variants

The product line offers modularity through several dimensional configurations, specifically identified as models MFB 020, MFB 030, MFB 100, MFB 180, and MFB 190. Construction materials vary depending on the selected model to maximize performance: the cover is made of Polyamide for models 020, 030, and 100, while aluminum is used for variants 180 and 190. The entire bowl, as well as the caps of the filter element, are molded in high-strength Polyamide. The internal mechanical system uses springs made of dedicated spring steel. Regarding sealing, the standard offering includes NBR seals (series A), with the technical possibility of adopting FPM seals (series V) as an option for specific fluids and temperatures. The range also includes differentiated versions of the upper cover: without cover (Version 1), with MPF-type flanged cover (Version 2), and with MPT-type threaded cover (Version 3).

Operating and Safety Specifications

The operating parameters indicate a maximum working pressure capacity of up to 0.8 MPa (8 bar). Tightness tests confirm a test pressure of 1.2 MPa (12 bar) and a minimum burst pressure limit of 2.4 MPa (24 bar). The component is validated against wear through a pulsating pressure fatigue test lasting 1,000,000 cycles, performed with pressure variations from 0 to 0.8 MPa (8 bar).

The operating temperature range extends from -25°C up to an upper limit of +110°C. The system handles significant volumetric flow rates, reaching peaks of up to 700 l/min. To protect the integrity of the filter media, each unit integrates a bypass valve designed to relieve excessive pressure drops. The opening pressures for this valve are calibrated with a tolerance of ±10%, set at 0.175 MPa (1.75 bar) or 0.3 MPa (3 bar).

Applications and Accessories

The primary use of this series is within mobile machinery applications. To comply with ISO fluid cleanliness requirements, the range of filter media covers multiple filtration grades: inorganic microfiber (options of 3, 6, 10, 16, and 25 µm), wire mesh (25, 60, and 90 µm), and resin-impregnated paper (10 and 25 µm). For installations in particularly deep tanks, an optional extension tube can be adopted, while the use of a diffuser (also supplied separately) effectively reduces aeration, noise, and fluctuations.
