The MP Filter Series MRSX is a return and suction filter designed for use in hydraulic systems equipped with two or more circuits, whether open-loop or closed-loop. Its primary purpose is to supply pressurized oil, properly purified through fine filtration, directly to the supply pump of hydrostatic systems. The unit is mounted directly on the tank, operating in a submerged or semi-submerged position. It is a fundamental requirement that the filter outlet remains constantly submerged in the fluid to prevent aeration or foam generation inside the tank. The system integrates several valve configurations to efficiently manage flow and operating pressure variations:

• Bypass valves to the tank or to the suction line relieve excessive pressure drops across the filter media when the return flow is significantly higher than the suction flow.
• A depressurization valve operates to reduce pressure inside the filter during maintenance procedures.
• An anti-cavitation valve, equipped with an additional suction filter element, ensures proper fluid supply to the hydrostatic system pump during cold start phases or initial filling.

Design Features

The series is designed to provide side mounting on the tank, an ideal solution to optimize and save space on board machines. In terms of materials, the head is made of aluminum for all models. The cover varies depending on the model: polyamide for model MRSX 116 and aluminum for models MRSX 165-166, while the filter container is made of polyamide. Key structural and connection features include:

• Return connections with female threads up to 1 1/4″, capable of handling maximum return flow rates up to 250 l/min.
• Multiple connections designed to couple several return and suction lines simultaneously.
• A MYclean interface connection implemented to protect the product and the system from the use of non-original spare parts.
• An external protective housing designed to optimize flow through the element and preserve its efficiency against improper handling.
• Monitoring systems compatible with visual, electrical, and electronic clogging indicators.

Applications and Industries

These filtration units are primarily and most commonly used in mobile machines equipped with onboard hydrostatic systems. Typical and frequent applications include skid steer loaders, telescopic handlers, dumpers, and street sweepers.

Fluid Specifications and Temperatures

The filters are designed to operate at a maximum working pressure of 1 MPa (10 bar) and feature a minimum burst pressure of 3 MPa (30 bar). Testing includes severe fatigue tests with one million cycles at pressures ranging from 0 to 1 MPa (10 bar). The permitted operating temperature range for the fluid varies from -25°C to +110°C. Regarding particle retention, filtration uses inorganic microfiber elements (RSX series) with filtration ratings of 10 µm (A10), 16 µm (A16), and 25 µm (A25). The flow through the filter element is directed from outside to inside (from OUT to IN). Seals are supplied in NBR (series A) as standard, with optional FPM seals (series V) available for specific operating requirements.
