The MP Filter SFMC 250 Series is a suction filter designed for installation below the minimum oil level. With a maximum flow rate of 160 l/min, it protects downstream pumps from coarse contamination. Equipped with an automatic shut-off valve, it allows quick replacement of the filter element without any fluid leakage. It supports multiple connections, magnetic filtration, and visual or electrical clogging indicators for industrial equipment and mobile machinery applications.
The suction filters of the MP Filter SFMC 250 Series range are designed to be positioned below the minimum oil level. They are connected directly to the pump suction line, providing essential protection against coarse contamination that could damage downstream components. One of the distinctive features of this series is its high design flexibility: installation can take place either on the side wall or on the bottom of the tank. These components integrate an automatic shut-off valve. The valve mechanism closes automatically as soon as the upper cover is removed, allowing operators to replace the filter element without any fluid leakage or spill.
The robustness of the system is ensured by the use of technical materials. The filter body is made of aluminum, while the cover is molded in glass-fiber-reinforced polyamide (GF). The valve assembly combines reinforced polyamide and steel, and the anti-drain valve is made entirely of steel. The total dry weight of the filter is approximately 2.8 kg, with internal volumes of 2.3 or 2.4 dm³. The flow direction through the filter element follows a path from the inside to the outside (From IN to OUT). The circuit can include an integrated bypass valve, calibrated with an opening pressure of 0.03 MPa (0.3 bar) and a tolerance of ±10%. This valve is designed to relieve excessive pressure drop across the filter media.
The replacement filter elements are identified as the SMC series. They provide different filter media options. Configurations with wire mesh (M) represent the standard construction, with a Δp of 1 bar, and are available in nominal filtration grades of 25 µm (M0025), 60 µm (M0060), 90 µm (M0090), and 250 µm (M0250). Alternatively, the filters can be equipped with resin-impregnated paper elements (P), with specifications of 10 µm (P0010) and 25 µm (P0025), also maintaining a Δp of 1 bar. The filters support standard NBR seals (series A or W) or optional FPM seals (series V or Z), ensuring reliability across a wide operating temperature range from -25°C to +110°C. Spare seal kit codes are 02050586 for the NBR version and 02050587 for the FPM version.
The volumetric capacity of the system supports a maximum flow rate of 160 l/min. Design parameters indicate that the maximum tolerated pressure drop (Δp max) for a new and clean suction filter is 0.08 bar (1.15 psi). The filters offer female threaded connection options up to 1″ and flanged connections up to 1 1/2″. The design includes multiple connections to allow the connection of several suction lines. In addition, the architecture supports accessories such as the magnetic filter, specifically designed for retaining ferrous particles. The range is completed by diagnostic systems, including visual, electrical, and electronic clogging indicators. This complete equipment makes the series suitable for use in mobile machinery and industrial equipment.
