Design and Construction Features
Oleo Tecnica 90° JIC Threaded Flanges represent an optimised technical solution for fluid control and hydraulic components. Designed with a 90-degree configuration and equipped with JIC threading featuring a 37° flare, they ensure a solid mechanical connection. The flanges are available in two main construction variants to meet different operating requirements: S355 steel (identified by the AFS prefix) and AISI 316L stainless steel (identified by the AFX prefix).
Series 3000 and Series 6000 Technical Specifications
The range is divided into two distinct series, classified according to the maximum recommended working pressure and nominal sizes (from 1/2″ up to 1″1/2):
- Series 3000: This series supports different pressures depending on component size. It reaches 345 Kg/cm² for 1/2″, 3/4″ and 1″ sizes (codes AFS08090J034, AFS08090J078, AFS10090J, AFS10290J). The maximum operating pressure decreases to 276 Kg/cm² for the 1″1/4 size (AFS10490J) and to 207 Kg/cm² for the 1″1/2 size (AFS10690J).
- Series 6000: Designed for more demanding applications, this series ensures structural sealing with a constant maximum working pressure of 414 Kg/cm² across all available sizes, from 1/2″ to 1″1/2 (codes from AFS40190J034 to AFS40590J).
Designations, Seals and Fastening Systems
The ordering system for Oleo Tecnica 90° JIC Threaded Flanges allows the desired supply level to be selected through a precise designation scheme. In addition to the material (AFS for S355, AFX for AISI 316L), the following configurations can be ordered:
- Flange only: Identified by the base suffix (e.g. AFS…90J).
- Flange complete with metric screws: Includes metric screws, spring washers and O-ring (suffix “JM”, e.g. AFS…90JM). Metric screws range from M8x30 to M16x55.
- Flange complete with UNC screws: Includes UNC screws, spring washers and O-ring (suffix “JU”, e.g. AFS…90JU). The supplied UNC screws range from 5/16″x1″1/4 up to 5/8″x2″1/4. As an important technical note, the UNC screw set is available exclusively in carbon steel.
Hydraulic sealing is ensured by specific O-rings, carefully matched to the flange sizes, using types 4075, 4100, 4131, 4150 and 4187 to prevent fluid leakage.
