Description
Classification and Working Pressures
Oleo Tecnica Blind Counter Flanges represent an essential technical solution for closing and securing terminations in industrial hydraulic circuits. Designed to withstand high pressure loads, they provide reliable closure and prevent any fluid leakage within the hydraulic system. The range is divided into two dimensional and sealing configurations, known as Series 3000 and Series 6000.
Series 3000 covers a wide range of sizes, starting from 1/2″ up to 5″. In this series, the maximum recommended working pressure varies and decreases as flange size increases: the more compact models (from 1/2″ to 1″) support up to 345 Kg/cm², intermediate sizes progressively decrease in pressure rating, while the larger-diameter versions (from 3″1/2 to 5″) are rated to operate at 34 Kg/cm². Weights vary proportionally from a minimum of 0.25 kg up to a maximum of 4.10 kg.
Series 6000, on the other hand, is developed for heavy-duty applications requiring consistently higher resistance. It is available in sizes ranging from 1/2″ to 3″. Unlike Series 3000, Series 6000 provides a constant maximum recommended working pressure of 414 Kg/cm² across the entire size range. The increased structural strength is reflected in component weights, which range from 0.25 kg up to 12.4 kg for the largest 3″ size.
Materials and Construction Features
To meet different environmental requirements and varying levels of corrosion from the fluids used, Oleo Tecnica Blind Counter Flanges are available in two different material types. The standard version is manufactured in S355 steel, a high-strength structural material suitable for most conventional hydraulic installations. For sectors requiring high corrosion resistance, a construction variant in AISI 316L stainless steel is available.
Fastening Types and Designation
The components are secured to the system by a series of holes arranged around the flange geometry. To ensure maximum international compatibility, the manufacturer provides two thread standards for the fastening holes:
- Metric Thread: from M8 to M30 depending on size and series. The standard designation for these models begins with the GFC prefix.
- UNC Thread: from 5/16″ to 1″1/8. These models are identified by adding the suffix U to the end of the designation code (e.g. GFC…U).
To order the AISI 316L stainless steel version, the letter “X” must be added to the base code (for example GFCX for metric holes, or GFCX…U for UNC holes). This high degree of modularity allows installation on manifold blocks, pumps or cylinders with different tapping standards, simplifying component standardisation and maintenance throughout the hydraulic system.
