Oleo Tecnica Butt-Weld Flanges

Oleo Tecnica Butt-Weld Flanges ensure secure hydraulic connections. Available for SCH.80, SCH.160 and SCH.XXS pipes (Series 3000 and 6000). Manufactured in S355 or AISI 316L steel, they support pressures up to 414 Kg/cm². Always verify that flange dimensions correspond to the schedule of the pipe used. Available product codes include all base variants listed in the catalogue: AFS080ST, AFS100ST, AFS102ST, AFS104ST, AFS106ST, AFS108ST, AFS110ST, AFS112ST, AFS114ST, AFS116ST, AFS118ST, AFS401ST012, AFS402ST, AFS403ST, AFS404ST, AFS405ST, AFS406ST, AFS507ST, AFS508ST (and the corresponding SCH.160 and SCH.XXS variants, as well as the STM, STU and AFX families).

Description

Construction Features and Operating Principle

Oleo Tecnica Butt-Weld Flanges are fundamental components for creating rigid and secure connections within high-pressure hydraulic systems. Designed for permanent welded connections, these flanges feature a 30° bevelled end profile to facilitate integration with the pipe. Sealing is ensured by a standard O-Ring seat (from type 4075 to 4537, depending on flange size), providing a leak-tight connection against hydraulic fluid loss even under severe mechanical stresses.

Variants and Supported Schedules

The range is divided into three different construction types, designed to meet pipe wall-thickness standards (Schedule): SCH.80, SCH.160 and SCH.XXS. For each schedule, the components are further divided into Series 3000 and Series 6000.

The nominal sizes covered vary depending on the series:

  • Series 3000: sizes from 1/2″ up to 5″ (available for SCH.80, 160 and XXS).
  • Series 6000: sizes from 1/2″ up to 3″ (available for SCH.80, 160 and XXS).

It is an essential technical requirement to always verify that dimensions “A” and “B” shown in the dimensional tables correspond exactly to the schedule of the pipe used in the system.

Working Pressures and Technical Requirements

Maximum recommended working pressures depend on the size, series and schedule of the selected flange.

  • In Series 3000, pressures range from a minimum of 34 Kg/cm² (for larger sizes such as 3″1/2 and 4″ in SCH.80) up to 345 Kg/cm² (for 1/2″, 3/4″ and 1″ sizes).
  • In Series 6000, pressure reaches 414 Kg/cm² for smaller sizes, while maintaining high values (up to 200-350 Kg/cm²) even for 2″1/2 and 3″ sizes.

The pressure stated in the catalogue refers to the structural capacity of the flange. The maximum working pressure of the complete system is always determined by the wall thickness and material quality (steel) of the pipe used.

Materials and Assembly Configurations

These components are manufactured in two primary materials to meet different environmental and structural resistance requirements: S355 carbon steel and AISI 316L stainless steel.

Supply options allow the most suitable assembly configuration to be selected:

  • Flange only (Base codes AFS… for S355, AFX… for 316L).
  • Flange complete with metric screws, spring washers and O-Ring (STM code family).
  • Flange complete with UNC screws, spring washers and O-Ring (STU code family).

UNC screws are available exclusively in carbon steel. For certain specific large-diameter models (e.g. AFS507STB54), only metric screw sets in carbon steel are available.
