The STAUFF Clamp Body with Elastomer Insert (Type RI – Heavy Series) is an advanced engineering solution for the secure fastening of hydraulic and industrial components. Designed in strict accordance with DIN 3015, Part 2, this system delivers excellent performance in managing mechanical stresses. The clamp architecture, combined with the elastomer insert featuring a film hinge, ensures outstanding vibration and noise reduction when installing rigid pipework, including steel tubes and pipelines. At the same time, the design provides exceptionally gentle, low-friction installation for flexible components such as rubber hoses and cables, preserving their structural integrity over time. The product has been extensively tested and approved across numerous industrial markets, confirming its reliability in high-pressure systems.

Construction Materials and Environmental Resistance

The durability of the system is based on the use of premium-quality thermoplastic materials developed to withstand the most demanding operating conditions. The standard clamp bodies are manufactured from polypropylene (material code: PP-R) or polyamide (material code: PA-R), both supplied in the standard black colour. These polymers provide the component with excellent weathering resistance, maintaining their mechanical properties even in extreme environments. Special flame-retardant materials are also available for the clamp body in critical applications. These materials are rigorously tested and certified in accordance with the strictest international fire-protection standards, including BS 6853, EN 45545-2 and UL 94.

Elastomer Insert Specifications

The elastomer insert forms the core damping element of the system, with its composition strategically varied according to the clamp size to optimise its elastic response. For STAUFF size groups 4S to 6S, the insert is moulded from thermoplastic elastomer with a hardness of 73 Shore A. For the larger sizes, from Groups 7S to 10S, EPDM with a hardness of 70 Shore A is used, providing outstanding damping performance across larger diameters. Both compounds are supplied in black. A key technical advantage is the interchangeability of the components: the elastomer inserts designed for Heavy Series clamp bodies in STAUFF Group 4S also fit Standard Series clamp bodies in STAUFF Group 4. Likewise, Group 5S Heavy Series inserts are compatible with Group 6 Standard Series clamp bodies.

Size Range and Configuration

The STAUFF Clamp Body with Elastomer Insert (Type RI – Heavy Series) is available across the full range of outside diameters commonly used in the fluid power industry. The range begins with STAUFF Group 4S, designed to accommodate outside diameters (ØD) starting from 6 mm, and extends up to the substantial Group 10S, capable of securing pipes with an outside diameter of up to 172 mm. Each complete clamp assembly consists of a clamp body, made up of two identical halves, and an elastomer insert. This extensive size range, combined with the possibility of requesting additional customised outside diameters, provides designers with maximum flexibility when developing pipework layouts.
