Design and Operating Principle

The STAUFF Heavy Series Profiled Clamp Body is an advanced technical solution for the secure clamping and fastening of rigid pipes, copper pipes and flexible hoses. Developed to withstand heavy-duty industrial applications, this clamp features a profiled inner surface with tension clearance, ensuring a firm and reliable grip on the pipework. The clamp body consists of two identical clamp halves that enclose the pipe, simplifying installation and maintenance of the hydraulic system.

Construction Features and STAUFF Groups

The system is available in two main size groups: Group 4S-D and Group 5S-D. Group 4S-D has an overall length (L1) of 115 mm, a height (H1) of 48 mm and a width of 30 mm, with a hole centre distance (L2) of 90 mm and a secondary centre distance (L3) of 45 mm. Group 5S-D, designed for higher loads and larger diameters, has a length (L1) of 145 mm, a height (H1) of 60 mm and a width of 30 mm, with a hole centre distance (L2) of 120 mm and a secondary centre distance (L3) of 60 mm. Standard clamps cover nominal outside diameters from 12.7 mm up to 42 mm. Special Type H versions with a smooth inner surface without tension clearance are also available on request for specific operating requirements.

Available Variants: Standard and Type RI

In terms of construction materials, the standard series is manufactured from green Polypropylene (PP) and black Polyamide (PA), offering excellent mechanical and chemical resistance properties. For applications where vibration absorption and a significant reduction in noise are critical, the range includes the Type RI variant (Clamp Body with Elastomer Inserts). In this configuration, the clamp halves are manufactured from special Polypropylene (PP-R, black) or Polyamide (PA-R, black). The final assembly is completed by two Thermoplastic Elastomer inserts with a hardness of 73 Shore-A, also black. This vibration-damping insert version covers pipe outside diameters from 6 mm up to 32 mm, making it particularly suitable for protecting flexible hoses and sensitive lines.

Order Codes and Specifications

The ordering code for the clamp halves is structured to clearly indicate the series and pipe diameter. For the standard 4S-D group, the base codes range from 4012.7/12.7-** to 4026.9/26.9-**, where the asterisks indicate the material (PP or PA). For the 5S-D group, the codes range from 5032/32-** to 5042/42-**. In the version with elastomer insert (Type RI), the complete assembly (consisting of one clamp body and two inserts) uses the final -R suffix in the code (for example 4006/06-**-R). For this RI type, the clamp body has a standardised inside diameter (Ø D) of 25 mm for Group 4S-D and 38 mm for Group 5S-D, specifically designed to accommodate the thermoplastic rubber insert. Additional outside diameters are available on request, providing hydraulic system designers with a high-performance modular system.
