The FOX PV1 Series Diaphragm Vacuum Pump is a highly efficient technical solution, specifically developed to precharge suction dampers operating under atmospheric pressure conditions. This pneumatic unit stands out for its oil-free operation, ensuring high efficiency, low noise and minimal current consumption.
Operating Principle
The mechanical system behind the FOX PV1 Series Diaphragm Vacuum Pump is based on the use of a flexible diaphragm located in the component head. This diaphragm is actuated and moved vertically by a connecting rod, which receives motion from an eccentric mounted directly on the motor shaft.
During the start-up phase, or down-stroke, air is drawn into the pump chamber and then expelled during the subsequent up-stroke phase. Directional control of the airflow is precisely managed by specific valves installed inside the pump head, which force the air to travel from bottom to top. Restart at maximum vacuum is guaranteed at a value of 1 bar.
Construction Features and Materials
The choice of materials for the PV1 Series ensures reliability and long service life. The main structure, including the pump chamber and head, is made of Ryton® PPS, a polymer known for its exceptional mechanical resistance. For elements subjected to dynamic stress, the diaphragm and internal valves are made of FKM elastomer (Viton), offering excellent compatibility. The sealing gaskets are made of silicone. The maximum working pressure supported by the device is 1 barg.
Pneumatic and Electrical Performance
In terms of pneumatic performance, the pump offers a free flow rate of 6.0 LPM. The unit reaches a maximum vacuum of -800 mbar, a value that the system can maintain continuously without performance decay. The pneumatic performance curve shows the relationship between vacuum and delivered flow rate: at 0 mbar, atmospheric pressure, the flow is at maximum level, 6.00 LPM, then decreases proportionally to 4.20 LPM at -200 mbar and 2.90 LPM at -400 mbar. At -600 mbar, the flow is 1.20 LPM, reaching 0.00 LPM at the extreme limit of -800 mbar.
As regards the electrical system, the integrated motor is a shared-pole type. The power supply requires a nominal voltage of 1×230 Vac with a frequency of 50 Hz. This product excels in energy saving: power consumption is only 36.5 W, equivalent to an extremely low current draw of 330 mA.
